Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone has travelled by train from Bangkok to P'Lok in the past few days. I normally do this journey once a month but having mixed reports about the extent of flooding along the way so would appreciate if anyone could give any insight before I book the tickets.

Thanks in Advance

Last I noticed (today) was there is no train service beyond Bang Pa In on the Northern line currently (which essentially means no service).

SRT website, and TV reports, say trains are only running to Bang Pa In.

Even when the flood-waters recede it sounds like a lot of repairs will be required before trains can run.

train from bkk to Phitsanulok is still suspended .... you can always update at

Or be really creative and visit the SRT site http://www.railway.co.th/home/

which has flood service updates; http://www.railway.co.th/srt/pr/news/viewshownews.asp?idnews=956

or call the SRT info line.

But yeah, don't expect any trains services to the north for weeks. As pointed out above, even once waters recede track and systems will take a while to check and repair.
