Travel From Mo Chit To Don Muant

Featured Replies

I am not familiar with Bangkok and the the various districts around the city and so I would be grateful to know if the predictions for Bangkok over the weekend 15 -17 Oct are correct, would I have difficulty in getting from Mo Chi bus station to Don Muang airport by taxi. Anyone with relevant knowledge of the geography of that particular area?

Right now (3am Friday) I would guess its 50/50, based on having done that journey (in entirely dry conditions) yesterday morning, reading the flood maps and watching the TV threads from members living in that area of Northern Bangkok.

It depends on whether flood defences hold and for how long. It depends on rainfall in the next day or so.

Don't bet your life on Don Meuang being open for flights at the weekend anyway. There is a high level highway for the 10k distance between Mo Chit and DM, and the area around Mo Chit is lower risk to flooding as of Thursday morning, but the DM runway is higher risk to flooding. The flights might be going from elsewhere by then (Swampy?).

As of Saturday 15th Oct 10am everything fine, traffic light, and dry as a bone, nice and sunny, however tonight theres a chance of heavy rain similar to last night, I think though it will be flood free. I live at Don Muang, hope this helps.
