Thanks to Frank Kameny for a life full of important work for gay equality.

In the last few years of his life, he had the chance to attend a signing of a gay rights bill by President Obama, inspired by his decades of work. He lived long enough to to see many sweet fruits of his lifelong struggle.

I had the honor of meeting him personally for one day attending the trial of a Maryland teacher who was fired just for being gay. The teacher failed to overturn the firing, but thanks to the leadership of a few heroes like Frank Kameny, such outrageously unjust firings happen less in America.

He coined the term "Gay Is Good" which is quaint now but in his time, it was revolutionary.
