Airport Link, Where To Get On?

Featured Replies

Is the airport link in service now?

Where to get on?

How much does the airport link cost to Suvarnabhumi?

How long does it take to go to Suvarnabhumi?

Even their own website does not tell you the cost of travel.

I'd also suggest you ask at the ticket counter about a round trip ticket, which (I recall) saves you about 40 baht over buying a ticket each way on the express. There's a time limit on using the return, but it's pretty generous.

If travelling with a suitcase or traveling wit another person a cab is a better and will cost something like 300 baht from central BKK.

Agreed not with the hassle to save a few dollars here and then pay $70 (in my case) at the other end

What were you paying $70 for..?

To be honest, I've found the express train way more convenient than taxis. Provided you can get to the station okay and are not taking your suitcase through rush-hour on the BTS, it's really easy, fast and reliable.

The Airport Link is not for all and is not intended to be. However, I always take it even with a large suitcase as it ends up being quicker and less hassle most of the time...and for a couple of other reasons.

In any event, based on the current heavy usage of the BKK-Chonburi Motorway, if you are departing to the airport in the next 48-72hrs I highly recommend that you take the ARL. The outbound lanes of Motorway were a carpark for 3-4km today in the mid afternoon. One should expect similar patterns for the next few days given this is the current main route for Isan traffic and the numbers of vehicles heading to the eastern seaboard this coming (now) long wkend.

If I had to depart to the airport at any time between 3-8pm in the next few days the likely scenario is; catch a taxi and potentially add up to an hour extra to your journey time due to heavy traffic or take the ARL in 15-25mins total journey time. Easy choice for moi.
