Trains To The South

Featured Replies

Where can I get reliable information regarding train departures to the south? I am planning to leave BKK tomorrow morning by train, going to Hua Hin. Where can I get information whether trains are running acc. to schedule or not?

According to Channel 3 News yesterday ALL trains to the South have been stopped.

Suggest you either watch for TV bulletins or telephone the Railway station directly.

"An operator at the State Railway of Thailand’s call center today told the Phuket Gazette that the move to shut down Southern Line services at Bangkok’s central Hua Lampong train station was made yesterday as flood waters crossed the tracks used by southbound trains."

It really is quite amazing that there have been something like 6 or 7 threads on TV in the last 10 days all asking the same thing, yet not one single OP thought for some reason to check the SRT website which has updates nor call them.

BTW, anyone catching a bus south, the bus terminal is closed from 6pm tonight ;

Breaking news at 3pm -

The southern bus terminal on Boromratchachonnani road will be closed from 6pm today due to flooding, Transport Company president Wuthichart Kallayanamit said on Monday. He said the area around the bus terminal had been flooded, making it difficult for passengers to reach and leave the terminal.

The company will open a temporary terminal at the Holland beer hall on Rama 2 Road, which can take about 60 buses at a time, Mr Wuthichart said.

Ummm. Well according the the television southern trains are only running from Nakhon Pathom.... not from BKK. but it may be wrong.
