November 4, 201114 yr They still don't believe it will happen, but people are getting more nervous here in Bangjark. My apartment has today fitted a flood barrier to the entrance and office door. Trouble is it appears to be made of MDF, so it's pretty much going to dissolve... (Not too worried, I'm in the penthouse suite.) About 20% of shop houses have built some kind of flood wall in front, some even considerate enough to include the adjacent ATM (^ near Udom Suk BTS). Two shops have expanded their stock to include boat sales (WatchirathamSahthit70 + Udom Suk): Yet Khlong Khlet is at its usual level, no crocodiles visible, and no monitors either. Perhaps the crocs ate them. Water shortage? What water shortage? This back street restaurant isn't about to run out (Srinakarindra42) Building Management have been told to expect 30cm, but remain sceptical. Me too, but having said that, they don't actually live on site...
November 5, 201114 yr Author The sign on the boat says: "Sell boat" (ขายเรือ). i.e, boat for sale. It was a toss-up between ข and บ (บาย being a loaner trasliteration of buy) in handwriting, but on reflection I'll change it to ขาย. Ta.
November 6, 201114 yr Nice pics and comments, wish more posted what they have, whether flooded or not.
