THAI AIRWAYS INTERNATIONAL KICKS OFF BANGKOK-MOSCOW ROUTE TODAY

Thai Airways International (THAI) has officially launched its flight for Bangkok-Moscow route today, while deputy managing director of THAI Wasing Kittikul (วสิงห์ กิตติกุล) is confident that the new route will benefit Thailand’s trade, investment, and tourism.

Mr. Wasing said that today at around 10.35 AM, Deputy Transport Minister Poomtham Vejjayachai (ภูมิธรรม เวชยชัย) will preside over the opening ceremony of the flight between Bangkok and Moscow, which have begun its service since November 1. The flight will fly three times per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays to facilitate businessmen from both countries.

Mr. Wasing said that around 150,000 tourists and businessmen from Russia traveled to Thailand last year, and the flight receives a good response from tourists, as currently there are 50% of passengers on board each flight. He expressed his belief that the number of passengers will increase to 60-65% beginning in December.

Mr. Wasing revealed that THAI also plans to launch new flights from Bangkok-India and Bangkok-Islamabad. He said that the two flights have already begun their service since November 1.
