Who Would You Use For Internet Connectivity If Your Income Relied On It?

Featured Replies

Hi

I am looking to work for 12 months from Thailand, Bangkok to be specific. Where, not sure where yet, hoping to get some hints from the housing forum.

My work will require me to connect remotely everyday for at least 8 hours. If I don't, I don't get paid for the hours I can't connect.

So I need high speed, ADSL2+ type speeds 20/1 minimum, preferably a low ping to Australia and enough of a QOS that I can run VOIP.

What carriers are out there that would be reliable enough and what sort of dollars (Baht) would I be looking at for a plan that allowed 200GB per month download?

Also could I use my FritzBox 7390 from Australia there or do I need to buy a modem/router in country?

I did review many posts but I blame my 3 week old baby if I missed one that answered my questions....

Thanks in Advance

It depends on where you are, but some parts of Bangkok have access to fibre/cable which is (potentially) a lot faster and more reliable than ADSL.

Either way, if I were in your shoes I would have at least two connections each using totally different technology, and from totally different providers. In fact that's what I do have.
