GM Link 20 Nov 2011 - 0730 (earlier occurrence) Thanon Sai Mai/Sai Mai 86/Khlong 2. NBT TV reported this morning from last night or early morning. My interpreter says they reported flooding after the gate was raised (or lowered?) and access was locked (gratuitous image of padlock - Sai_Mai_86g). Flooding to curb height at Sai Mai 64, apparently (image Sai_Mai_86k, upper left ) and looks deeper closer to the gate. Images and report courtesy NBT TV. As usual, poor image quality courtesy moi. Water never sleeps.

Went to our house in Khu Bon Soi 27 again today. The water has gone down more.

Now only 40cm or so in our yeak and 20cm in the house. It is going in the right direction.

Khu Bon Rd itself is very shallow in places. Some parts are just above water.

I went to my house in Passorn 12 village in klang 3 pathum thani and we can drive into the village now as the water is about 30-40cms. The downstairs was a mess but we expected this. The road at Klaung luang is ok and not flooded now just heavy traffic. The bang pa in-bang na expressway is ok once you pass the toll booth after the rangsit exit as the road has disolved due to flood water and there is chaos at the toll booths as 10 lines cram into 3, Once through there its ok. Klang 3 is passable but only with care as there are still deep puddles of water, We drove just passed Big C in klang 3 in a honda civic so i hope it will get better after this. I hope this helps someone.

Contrary to what the prime minister said about the flood- waters in Phutthamonthon having receded they have actually increased by about 2 cm.

Chaeng Watthana road between Tesco Lotus and Big C (Soi 14) today open for pick-up trucks and busses.

Also saw one brave guy on a real motorcycle (bike) passing me. Big C and Avenue shopping areas are dry.

In our village (Soi 14) the water in front of our house is still 90cm deep!

Dropping about an inch every day.

There was an announcement that the remaining flood water from Chaeng Watthana road and government complex would be pumped into our village (to make those other areas dry), but people protested against it. They should just pump the water into the Khlong Premprachakorn, the canal along Vipawadee that goes all the way to Bang Sue, where they can pump it into the river. The idea to pump it into a residential area to the North (and not to the South) is bonkers. What's the added value when those government officials can go to "work" easier, anyhow?

Thank you for the update. I hadn't been down that direction until last Friday and saw all the big trucks across from Makro organized to get the government staff to work. I was wondering how high the water was on the other side of Klong Prapa. At Chinnakhet, back behind Durakhitbundit, I don't think it ever got to more than 60 or 70 cm, so it stayed outside of the buildings. It's amazing to me how with a short distance how drastic the water levels change. And yes, it does seem counterproductive to flood people's homes when there is a canal nearby.

GM Link Between Bang Yai and San Noi? Didn't you mean Sai Noi? If you did, that narrows your report's location down to around ... only ... about ... say ... somewhere within an area of 75 square kilometers or so (about 15 linear kilometers between the two).

Saraburi - Bangkok

I passed Wang Noi inbound yesterday evening (Saraburi - Bangkok). The inbound side is still pretty badly flooded after km. 59 (59 to 57 someting). One lane on the opposite side (the Bangkok - Saraburi side) is opened up for inbound traffic and the traffic signs advice only 6-wheel trucks up to continue on the inbound (east) side. I advise all cars and pickups to use the outbound (west) side when passing that area

I saw a couple of cars and one 4WD pickup standing scooping water out of their cars just passed the flooded area on the inbound (east) side - No need to be hero, just follow the signs and the area is passable also for small cars

Took 4.5 hours to go from Saraburi to Suttisarn yesterday evening so traffic is still pretty bad

Traveled from Rama IV via #34 (elevated Chonburi expressway) to northbound ChalongRat Expressway to Eastern Outer Ring (#9) northbound yesterday morning. A U-Turn from the northbound lanes into the southbound lanes had been created by removing some of the divider blocks just north of the ChalongRat intersection (somewhere near N13 54 24 E100 41 53) but I ignored it. It took 1.3 hours to move northbound roughly 3 Km when I came across another impromptu U-turn, well before the Lam Luk Ka tollbooth. I took this one and went back home to Korat via #9 to #7 to 304 (past Chachoensao, Kabin Buri, and Wang Nam Khieo). I hate going that way as most of the Isaan bound traffic is using it now, but I had no way to know how long the traffic jam on northbound #9 was going to take. Southbound #9 was a breeze. Water on both sides of the #9 but not on the roadway itself as far as I saw.

I took the #9 Bangkok heading Ayutthaya Friday at peak hour and that took an hour extra because they were pumping the remainders of the water from the badly damaged roads around the toll gates. Only two toll gates available for passing traffic.....

This morning drove the other way Ayutthaya- Bangkok via #32 and #9, excellent ride, no water on the road, some slow traffic around the toll gates.

Be careful because on both road #32 and #9, in- and out-bound people are still camping, mostly around the bridges...

Few days ago I read on this thread about the road between BangPaIn- BangPakKret Highway and taking the #9 for the last

part to Bang Pa In.

I tried the other way around yesterday from Bang Pa In to the entrance of BangPaIn- BangPakKret highway and stopped after a few hundred meters, water was too high for what I can call passable. Trucks went and some pick-ups, SUV's close behind them...myself I drive a high pick-up.

But living in Ayutthaya I have had my share of driving through (too) deep waters...

The water is becoming to dark as well to see the roads and estimate of it is passable

Next week I'll take a look again...

Friday night at 18:00 it took us 8 hours to go 3 km on the southbound side of #9 around the toll gate. I guess you were lucky.

Ram Inthra Soi 69: Our soi is finally dry :) No such luck yet for Ram Inthra Soi 67 http://g.co/maps/vhhkv Must be still 20cms.

Walked down Nawamin from Ram Inthra today to the intersection Nawamin/Rt.350: http://g.co/maps/en4gr

Nawamin near Ram Inthra is still 40cm on the curb sides, but on the road about 30cm. Until about Saha Farms building. The Post Office is open.

Buses, trucks and pick ups can go, but make large bow waves. And of course I got wet. Actually saw a Vios making its way through. That was gutsy.

urther south past Saha, the road is (mostly) dry.

One thing that keeps puzzling me is that the khlongs around here are moving quite slowly. I read others saying the large khlongs are moving fast.

Went to see the house on bang weark next to puttamonton sae 2, the water is down to 45cm that end of bang weark and accessible by pickup not cars from seaack tosikan(sae 2) end. Does not appear tohave dropped much if any since then,I think we can move back in wed or thurs with another 150cm drop.
