I have been reading that thai girls like white guys, the whiter the better, now that all okay for me because i am white, but i tan very easy and when i move to pattaya i want a tan and i want to sunbath, but obviously i want the girls to be attracted to me. This is what i have read and i hope it not true, or a little over the top because i feel better with a tan anyway and with the things i like doing its unavoidable. I would like to make it clear i don't think i'm any better than anyone else for being white, and i find this very strange, but is it really true that if i looked like some one from the med which i do with a tan, the girls would prefer a pasty looking bloke like the way i feel now in freezing cold london. Sorry if i have worded this badly but could someone put me straight on the matter.

thanks

Your tan, or lack of, has very little importance on your sex appeal.

The girls often, but not always, want to have whiter skin them-self,

but that's another matter.

Having 'a good heart' aka spending money on the woman here, has turned out to be the real deal :)

good luck

I would avoid the heavy drinking and debauchery. Send your liver and your wallet on their own, and stay tucked up safe in England.

Helpfully there are websites for this where they send pics. One is smokie36sexypics.com.

Very cheap only £30 a month...

If he's seriously interested, my wallet could take his wallet on a magical mystery tour - its been there often enough, but I'd rather check my liver into a convalescence home...

Lets be honest is it really any different in the uk, the more money the more chance of a stunner, peter crouch for example. looks will get you so far but the reality is most girls would leave you if a richer a guy who's equally good looking comes along.

The reason girls like pasty white guys is because they have just got of the plane and are easy pickings.

Having a tan indicates you have been here some time and may not be such an easy push over.

But as others have said as long as you display a thick wallet it does not matter what color you are.

never a dull day on thai visa forum.

Even on a dull day you can still get sunburnt.

I suffer terribly when I'm on holiday, because the bairns are used to the sun, but I'm not.

In a Thai girl's eyes, having a tan identifies you with the lowest levels of Thai society: laborers, poor farmers, etc. who have to work out in the hot sun.

Take a sun umbrella with you wherever you go to stay on top of the heap: preferably one decorated with bright flowers. whistling.gif

Well i plan to get as brown as possible, so i'll leave my flower patterned unbrella at home. Well funny.

Possibly slightly off-topic, but anyway...

I was walking down to the polling station with my preconceptions firmly in place, determined not to let my prejudices be swayed, whatever convincing arguments the pundits forced on me.

I went past the posters for SNP, Tory, Labour, Liberals (I forget their names) and Mr Brown for the environmentalists "Vote Green! Vote Brown!"

'I know where you're coming from - I'm colour-blind too' and he got my vote that day, preconceptions swept aside.

Anyway, if you get a good hue on, you'll be able to get Indian prices in the bars - normally about 50% extra, and a bit of lip from the bouncer as well...

When I was younger I was left standing for a Mexican thanks to a healthy suntan and a Jesus-beard. I shaved it off before I went to university...

As far as the Thai women you appear to be targeting, contrary to popular consensus among TV posters, whiter skin is not the "overwhelming force" they consider it to be.

Cash money trumps all. The only variable is the amount required and it bears a direct correlation to your looks. If you're Denzel Washington, expect a good-looking female of doubtful virtue to present you with an invoice as low as THB500 but if you're Woody Allen, expect upwards of THB2000

rolleyes.gif ..........and who said white skin is the overwhelming force here ?

why don't you go to a religious forum and convince members that God Exist or something

or perhaps you do ?

You need to calm down, son. There is no doubt whatsoever that there is a general perception that Thai women prefer whiter skin and, whilst that may be true for themselves and their male counterparts, it is not necessarily the case as far as foreign men are concerned. No one here (as in this thread) said it is the overwhelming force but I never said they did, did I?

Now go brush up on your metaphors

Yes, that is exactly what you said,

read your own text, slowly if need be, that i quoted

TV posters in general - not necessarily the ones on this thread. If you can't tell the difference, too bad.

OP, you obviously don't know, or care about the connection between sun exposure and melanoma?? When you've lost a close family member to melanoma, as I have, you treat lying in the sun as about the most moronic thing anybody can do.

Good luck with the chicky babes, white skin or brown skin. As has already been said, they will care more about the color of the notes in your wallet than your skin.

I would agree. This tanning ritual has got to be one of the stupidest acts known to man. No wonder so many farangs age prematurely. The Thais have got this one right--avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

LOL if dark brown was the status symbol then the beaches would be packed with Thais. they didnt get it right for any other reason than status

I thought this was old news by now.

The entire South East Asia have the very same attitude towards darker/lighter skin, as we had in "the west" about 80 years ago.

As one member stated correctly, darker skin indicates outdoor labour force, and lighter skin indicates indoor work.

Same we had in the old days.

The local ladies are not less intelligent than the ladies from we are from.

Yes I know, this is a shocker to some of you. They are sometimes lesser educated.

They do NOT think someone with a lighter skin just came off the plane.

I'm pale as milk these days, because I hate the bloody sun, and cant stand being on a beach.

I'm not the only one. Still most ladies will in some way recognize me as someone not just arrived.

The Thais are very vain, so proper clothing and behavior, and you go a long way.

Bottom line is, a suntan does not matter, as long as your qualities are displayed.

Thais have got it right...Sun bathing isn't clever... A school friend of mine moved to Austalia in his twenties, worked on fruit orchards ever since. Out in the sun everyday...Now he looks about sixty-five instead of his thirty-four years.

That said the kind of women the OP will encounter in Pattaya, like their customers to be sanuk, fun, and if sunbathing makes you happy- go for it.

LOL right back at you. If a tan wasn't considered attractive and chic in the west, farangs wouldn't be lying out in the sun risking skin cancer, would they?

No my point was Thais dont intentionally avoid skin cancer

I think that's true....but it's really missing the point raised by the OP...

More importantly, the Thai ladies don't really care if you have a sun tan, because that can come and go... What they care about more is your native skin color, so that any future baby between you and them will be preferably of white skin color...

There's lots of interest by some women in having luk kreung (mixed Thai-white) children, the lighter the skin color the better, in keeping with the general Thai prejudices about such things.

And in that context, sun tans are irrelevant.
