2 MILLION BAHT'S WORTH OF DIAMONDS HAVE BEEN STOLEN FROM CENTRAL RATTANATHIBET

More than two million baht worth of diamonds have been stolen from a store in Central RATTANATHIBET (เซ็นทรัลรัตนาธิเบศร์), and police now prepares to further interrogate the store clerk after her testimony was deemed suspicious.

Police in NONTHABURI inspected the crime scene at Diamond Queen Store, which is located inside Central RATTANATHIBET Department Store, and discovered that at least two million baht worth of diamonds have been stolen. 26-year-old ITTHIYA HANAD (อิฐธิยา หะนาด), the staff on duty at the time of the crime, claimed that she was watching the True Corporation mechanics installing the telephone lines in the shop, and then she left them in order to take care of the customers. However, when she turned around, the diamond box disappeared.

Mr. NARONG HANSANOND (ณรงค์ หรรษานนท์), the store owner, said 109 pieces of diamond jewelleries, worth around 2.2 million baht, were stolen.

Police believe a team of criminals carried out the theft with the knowledge that the store had not yet installed a closed-circuit camera. Officers also plan to further interrogate the store clerk as her testimony prompted suspicion. It was also noted that she had already written her resignation letter prior to the theft.
