Great news..! i can't think of any other group globally doing anything like this to help one of the rarest birds in the World.
Most naturalists here will already be aware of this 'Thai Gem' as Thailand is one of the only places on Earth where the bird can be easily be seen, albeit in very small numbers, when they leave their breeding grounds in the Russian tundra to winter at just a couple of sites around the Bay of Bangkok.

As I'm sure you're aware, Goshawk, this species is my avatar. It can be seen annually in Hong Kong, but I saw my first on the prawn ponds at Jurong... now, alas, long filled in.

...only reckoned to be about 100 pairs left in the wild, its future is on a knife edge. I first saw one 8yrs ago on the salt pans at Samut Sakorn, thanks to eagled eyed Tii.
