My friend's family is coming over next month and they are flying to Phuket for a week. Basically its his Mum, Brother and his boyfriend.

Obviously the guys want to be near Patong but they want somewhere a little more low key for their Mum.

What is Kalim beach like? Maybe Karon beach as i heard it is a 10 min drive but would the taxi drivers make this trip at night and would it be safe?

Kamala is a pleasant spot. Quiet enough.

There are lots around patong.....kamala is kind of quite.but u can also find nice hotels near patong.just stay in non friendly girl hotel that will be fine.
