Ukraine Man Cannot Come From Laos To Thailand

hello my friends,

have through couchsurfing a vistor who is from ukraine.

he is now in laos and wants to come to thailand and they not let him today. not know he have a tourist visa or not. they say they let him only in airport in.

(1) where ge can find waht kind of visa?

(2) he also wants later to visit malaysia and china. maybe he can go first to malaysia and later from there to thailand?

It would seem he does not have a tourist visa which is required for entry into Thailand as he is not from a visa exempt country. But he is allowed visa on arrival for 15 days so if he flies into Thailand he can obtain that at airport if he meets the requirements. Or he can obtain a tourist visa from a Consulate.

He could enter Malaysia for 30 days if meeting requirements per below but he would still require a visa to enter Thailand:

With visa on arrival he needs to make use of certain border ceckpoints, he cannot just use any border checkpoint.

Temporary tourist visa: Visa on arrival

- According to the Interior Ministerial Announcements, passport holders from some countries may apply for visas at the immigration checkpoints for the purpose of tourism for a period not exceeding 15 days.

- The applicant must possess instrument of means of living expenses 10,000 per person and 20,000 Baht per family accordingly.

- The applicant must produce instrument of means of transport (full paid ticket) which is usable within 15 days since the date of entry.

- Visa on arrival is provided at 12 designated international checkpoints and applicants should produce the application form to which his/her recent photograph (2 1/2 inches) is attached. The application fee is 1000 Baht.
