britmaveric Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Tourist nearly drowns on Larn Island. With high season upon us, tourist safety on the beaches of Pattaya and surrounding Islands is of prime concern. We went to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital after medical staff admitted a foreign man who nearly drowned on Larn Island. He was spending the day with his Thai girlfriend, Khun Loongnapa who explained to us that the pair had spent the day eating and drinking on the beach when the man known only as Alan went for a swim and got into difficulties. Luckily he was spotted by other swimmers and was retrieved from the water in an unconscious state. He was revived and taken to Pattaya by speed boat. We understand he is expected to fully recover. -Pattaya City News Saturday 26th November 2005

britmaveric Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 Actually thought it might be my mate Alan- luckily only thing he drowns in is Singha. (not to mention the gf name was wrong)
Mighty Mouse Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 There are no waves, no rips, no sharks, no sink holes, no currents, no submarines...... but there is contaminated sea food, together with drinking alcoholic beverages excessively that can cause stomach cramps. Not a good combination particularly if you don't have much common sense or swimming skills.
