Wedding Reception Ideas?

Just wondering if someone has any ideas of a good place for a wedding reception somewhere close to the CBD of Bangkok or anywhere close to Sukhumvit as far south as Pra Khanong.

We are not looking for the lavish hotel affair that is typical of western weddings in Thailand, just somewhere nice, outdoors perhaps with a nice meal, perhaps put on a band with some nice music and no over-the-top bullshit like ice sculptures, lavish gold leaf guest registers or the like.

Oh, and not too expensive - we are trying to a budget as there are significant other costs involved in shipping family members in.

I have researched a few ideas for doing a river cruise, but really can't find anything that would be less than about 60 to 70 thousand baht - I'm really looking at about half of that.... I know I am at the pointy end of the stick being a) western ... b)non-thai speaking and c) not in-country presently so it makes things difficult, but any good leads that could be provided would be appreciated.
