Counterfeit Note Checker Required (Uv)

Featured Replies

I'd like to purchase an ultraviolet note checker so I can test for fakes.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get an ultraviolet light from to check these notes ? A small handheld battery powered one will be just fine as I won't be using it very much.

If it makes any difference It's US currency I'm checking.

Makro, Office Works, think I have seen them in Big C. Many models from 700 Baht up. Even lighting/electrical stores have them. UV is called "fai dum" - literally "black light".

Pantip has hand held ones, I also saw a cart in Jatujak selling the penlight ones - right outside the smoking section near the info centre.

Hope all goes well, better safe than sorry.

be very careful you don't buy a "counterfeit" conterfeit note checker. I am led to believe there are many counterfeit goods out there....

Thanks for the advice, I'll pick one up over the next few days

Anyway, why don't you buy one of those highlighter pens that will not shine bright blue on a note unless it's a fake note? That way it's so much easier to flick it out and check anywhere, i'm sure it's pretty cheap too.
