Air Fryer
The other day I ordered fries from a food stand in a market. At the end of eating I had the most disgusting oil taste in my mouth. I really don't know what they use here, but it's got a weird after taste. -

It shows that the air can be very thin at the bottom as well. The flip side of the coin would be, that the Thai rice farmers would get more for their crop as the Cambodian imports are missing. For sure the retail prices go up, question is only, does that increase hit through to the bottom or does the increase get "stuck" somewhere in the maze of the selected few licensed biggies in the trade? -

Depression
No amount of money, gold or things will take away depression. Besides seasonal and environmental, depression is with you wherever you go and whatever you do. Thailand's weather can be depressing at times, especially the rainy season, and this is why many people have trouble with seasonal up north or in the upper western states of America. Environmental can be controlled if you get yourself out of that situation, but clinical stays with you. If you have depression, only a professional using therapy and possibly the right meds can have your symptoms lessen. -

I don't think weight gain is the main issue. All restaurants are using unhealthy cooking oills. This increases disease risk. It will damage your arteries, for one thing. The unhealthy cooking oils are listed here: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/why-fried-foods-are-bad#TOC_TITLE_HDR_6 The air fryer is mentioned in the above article. It's way healthier to eat air fryer food that food cooked in bad oils, but not for weight gain issues. I think the air fryer was invented to reduce fried foods as it approximates the taste of fried foods? But if you fry at home with healthy stable cooking oils, it's fine. You can make fries in beef tallow on a skillet. McDonald's used to cook their fries in beef tallow, but switched based on fake science. Real science now supports beef tallow as a healthy fat and these other cooking oils as harmful. I think the real reason they switched was to save money as beef tallow is very expensive and drives up costs. Or ... believe whatever you want.
