I purchased a CCTV DVR just over 2 years ago, at the time it was approx 25,000.00 baht, the unit comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty. the unit has recently broken and I contacted the manufacturer direct regarding getting the unit fixed ( I am happy to pay for the repair as I understand it is out of warranty). The manufacturers response was that sorry we do not fix this model any more as we cannot get parts. As i seem to remember in the UK if a manufacturer sells a electrical product they are responsible for carrying parts to repair goods sold for up to 7 years after the sale. Does anyone know if there is a similar law in Thailand if so any advise or links to information would be appreciated

I would say no, if the product is of a well know make and they have offices in Thailand you usually can get things fixed.

I wouldn't think UK laws would apply here.

Many electronic things are updated from original manufacture, making them obsolete quickly.

That said you may well be able to get it fixed if you shop around, goodluck.
