We ordered a brand new honda from the honda garage in november.

paid them 3000 baht deposit. for Honda finance.

they told us that the car is arriving in January.

Now they haven't asked to see our bank statements or anything and they have told us we have to wait till april because of the floods.

now my argument is that there was already flooding in Bangkok when we ordered the car so they would have known that we would have to wait 6 months already.

So arfe these people a bunch of jokers or is this normal. Should i go else where and wait another 3 months or stil this out????

anyone else with similar experience see as though there is not enough cars for samui there must be others out there in the same boat

What happened to your English? Hats off to you. Keep up the good work...and I am not being facetious.

It is likely that they might have known, as you suggest, but (A) did not want to mention any delays because they honestly didn't think it would be a problem or, (B ) did not want to mention any delays because they honestly didn't want you to take your custom elsewhere once you heard you had to wait so long.

(A) or (B )?

I ordered a new mitsu triton in october and that's when the problem starts. It was not necessarily the mitsu mount factoty but all the sub providers located in bangkok who had problems.

So yes, in november they probaply known about the problems but would not turn down a new deal. I don't think you well be better served at any other place but you can try to deal with the guys and get some discount, I was successful in that matter. They have some margins to take from...

cheers thats what i wanted to know if it was normal. if i went to surat to order then there is a chance i would go through the same process. Evene if i had to wait 3 months it would still comein April.

thnk i shall have to bite the bullet and hope there are no more further delays.

Should hopefully get 100 k back on this govenment scheme. Have to wait and see. Anyone else got this 100 k cash back with this govenment scheme.

The goverment scheme is a tax deduction so to take advantage of it you (or your wife) need to pay tax here in Thailand. And it is spread over 5 years,

I also thought you did not get anything back in tax until the end of the first year, so no-one will have been able to apply yet? Plenty of discussion elsewhere in this forum about it, but the biggest issue I thought was going to be engine size. Anything over 1.5l was not allowed?

they changed it to 1.6 cc as many tax drivers were complaining

I think that the delivery delays as due to the drying out of the cars is taking longer than first thought. If I bought a 'new' car now, I would surly have an inspection done from an independant source. You don't really think that all of those swamped cars in the Bangkok floods are going to be destroyed??
