90 Days From When ?

Featured Replies

My wife and I did our last 90 day reporting on 25th October '11.

Receipts of these Notifications were stapled into our passports with instruction to report again on 22nd January '12.

We travelled out of Thailand in November and were stamped back into Thailand on November 17th 2011.

QUESTION IS: Do we have 90 days from 17th November to file our next 90 day Report

- or, do we still have to report on 22nd January '12 ( as per the stapled in instruction) ?

Will be very grateful to receive some advice on this matter.

Thank you.

Cheers

Do we have 90 days from 17th November to file our next 90 day Report

That is correct.

It is for people remaining in Thailand for 90 consecutive days or more, so count 90 days since your entry into Thailand, the day you enter(November 17) counts as one.

I don't know how there can be so much confusion about a simple report and it's requirements, there are posts almost everyday, certainly every week.

As said, the report is required after a stay of 90 consecutive days.

Not 90 days since your last report.

The confusion, in my mind, arises from the fact that no new 90 Day Report Instruction was affixed to our passports on the day of our return (17th november ) leaving, still stapled in our passports, the instruction to report on 22nd January.

Perhaps they simply forgot to remove the old and replace it with a new. So, I have been left a little in the dark. hence my question and my thanks for your answers. Really appreciated.

Cheers.

The officers at the airport don't touch those stapled report forms. They're not interested in them at all. When I travel, I remove the stapled report report form to avoid any issue when reporting after 90 days in Thailand. Just in case they ask for it, I bring it in. They've never asked for it.

Immigration Officers at border crossings do not remove 90 day report receipts.

That is the job of the officer when you make your next report.

The confusion, in my mind, arises from the fact that the only clear instruction that we have (per the stapled advice) is to report on 22nd January which is, in fact, 90 days from the previous reporting (25th October).

If we are to report 90 days after our return into Thailand on 17th November, perhaps they should have replaced that old instruction with one reflecting a new date ( some day in February ).

For the time, thank you very much for your help.

What you are wanting/expecting is not going to happen in the current system. You are discovering the mechanics of how this works now. When you stay in Thailand, those stapled report forms are relevant. When you travel before 90 days is up, you're on your own to count the new 90 day period. Immigration will know whether you did so correctly because you write the day you last entered Thailand on the address reporting form.

Perhaps they should have replaced these with a new advice giving us a date by which to report and calculated 90 days from our return into Thailand on 17th November ?

For the time, thank you very much.

Thanks very much guys and sorry for my multiple replies. Each of these came about because my entries were not being shown as posted.

O.K. Got it. Thank you very much. Your answers were as I suspected but I needed to be certain. I can relax a little. Really appreciated.

Cheers.
