Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is reportedly poised to reshuffle her Cabinet in a move that will involve more than a dozen positions and welcome newcomers close to her brother Thaksin.

The upcoming Cabinet Secretariat was checking the details before releasing the new Cabinet line-up, Thitima said, admitting that nine incumbent Cabinet members would lose their job.

Key changes included the concurrent appointment of Kittiratt Na Ranong as deputy prime minister and finance minister.

On Monday, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra submitted the reshuffle list for royal endorsement.

The Cabinet line-up is being billed as streamlining work but is seen as rotating former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s men to share the spoils.

The job line-up will focus on portfolios allocated to the Pheu Thai Party.

Defence Minister Yuthasak Sasiprapha, a staunch ally of Thaksin, is tipped to become deputy prime minister overseeing security affairs.

Deputy Prime Minister Kittiratt Na Ranong is tipped to take the concurrent finance portfolio and relinquish his commerce portfolio to Deputy Finance Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom, an ally of Thaksin’s sister Yaowapha.

Yuthasak’s successor is likely to be Transport Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat, also a close ally of Thaksin.

Pheu Thai MP and reds leader Natthawut Saikua is tipped as a newcomer for the position of deputy agriculture minister.

Phue Thai MP Suchart Tadathamrongvej will likely replace Education Minister Worawat Ua-apinyakul who is tipped to move to the PM’s Office.

Thaksin’s two allies, Nivat Boonsongpaisal and Nalinee Thavisin, are poised to be allocated portfolios in the PM’s Office.

Former ThaiCom executive Arak Chonlatanon, who has long served in Thaksin’s business empire, will become energy minister.

Chart Pattana Party will allow the departure of Industry Minister Wannarat Charnnukul due to his illness. Former Thammasat University College of Innovation dean Pongsvas Svasti will be his successor.

Chulalongkorn University lecturer Chatchart Sithipan is tipped to become deputy transport minister.

Well I'm glad to see the PM is replacing all the unqualified with the well qualified especially reds leader Natthawut Saikua. His own mother thinks he should be back on the farm. No nepotism related appointments here for sure.

Is this going to be a constant with this bunch changing out ministers every 6 months, then nothing will ever get done.I guess Yingluck can use this as an excuse, we now have a new government please give us 6 months to allow the new cabinet time to learn their jobs. Then 6 months later the same reframe.

Need to change/relieve those who have hit the desired weight feeding at the trough, for those who are standing in line for a chance at some spoils/tax money. Get those in place for the mega projects upcoming. Feeding may have to go to a 3 times a day schedule with a perscribed feeding time of 5 to 7 months.

Cabinet Reshuffle Confirmed

The Pheu Thai Party secretary-general admitted a Cabinet reshuffle is likely to take place soon.

However, he declined to give out any more detail regarding which ministers will be replaced in the new lineup.

Meanwhile, the transport minister refused to comment on reports that he could be named as the new defense minister.

Pheu Thai Party Secretary-General Jarupong Ruangsuwan admitted that a Cabinet reshuffle is likely to take place soon.

Jarupong said the reshuffle has been discussed by the Pheu Thai's executive board.

However, the secretary general declined to comment on the new Cabinet lineup.

He said the details of the reshuffle will only be made public by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra herself.

Jarupong said the new Cabinet will be revealed once the royal endorsement is given.

He urged the public not to speculate on the matter.

He also declined to comment on the new faces that could be given ministerial posts since he's not sitting on the party's board.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister, Air Chief Marshal Sukampol Suwannatat also talked to the media about the upcoming Cabinet reshuffle.

Sukampon denied any knowledge of the possibility of him being given the defense portfolio, replacing General Yuthasak Sasiprapa as defense minister.

Sukampol further said that if the rumor was true, he respects the decision of the prime minister and is ready to take charge of the defense ministry.

PM: Cabinet reshuffle not for poor performance of some ministers; insists change made for suitability after govt’s six months in office /MCOT

We all know what suitability means.

Thai dictionary for (PT-)politician:

suitability = euphemism for incompetence

But the real "suitables" are not mentioned. One with the initials "Ch...",one with "P... P..." , one with "Pl... S..."

Somebody told me Thaksin is such a great man.

But how come he handpicked such a bunch of suitables who had to say goodbye within half a year? huh.png

He just needed a name to fill a seat at the time being,as his 111 real friends weren't available at that time.

Anyone want to defend this?

If they switched out these many cabinet positions in my home-country there was usually a huge crisis [within the government] before it to make sense. Such a change of leadership in the executive comity of the party itself. Not just...'let'd swap chairs to spread out the corruption amongst our MPs'.

So the Defence Minister has shown how suitable for the post he was and is moved to defend the prime minister. The Transport minister has shown how suitable he is at moving things around he is moved to Defence Minister.

Reality no-one in the cabinet gives a hoot for their real job as no-one in the cabinet is capable of the intelligent ideas needed to move this country forward. So sad for Thailand

Love the wai photo. Sawadii krap, president banana here............. banana banana banana.

My only complaint is Yingluck has got to get some other hotties in there. We all know that

her only other use other than as a wind up doll, is her hotness.

Yingluck needs to get the "Dream Team" cabinet rolling. I suggest that she sends advisors to

coyote bars across the city, for immediate vetting of cabinet positions, as the following positions

need to be filled:

Tall skinny one, with white skin: Sports and tourism minister

With braces, and can add single digits without a calculator: Finance minister

Full figure girl with knock out smile: Industrial minister.....................

Same stuff would get done, but the difference would be a whole lot better news programs, and

if Yingluck had some backup dancers she would shut up and stop pretending to actually know something, and

get up and DANCE DANCE DANCE!!!
