Photography Exhibition, Airport Plaza.

Just thought a heads up to everyone on this would be good. Right now, and I think until 29th January, the Chiang Mai Photographic Group has its annual exhibition right at the entrance to the Northern Village on the 2nd floor of Airport Plaza.

There are a whole bunch of great photos, taken all over the World, not just in Thailand, most of which are so good, so interesting, that your average "point and press shutter" person like me gets really jealous and wishes he could even take one shot as good as any of those on display!!

The guy who was looking after the exhibition( I think theres someone there most afternoons) when I was there has all the details of where and when the CM Photographic Group meets, and he told me its a very inclusive group, open to all if you have an interest in the art of photography.

Check it out! Well worth an hour of your time!!

Went on Tuesday.

IMO this is the best exhibition mounted by the Group so far. Bigger and much more diverse in subject matter.

I found it excellent and would congratulate the organisers and the contributors on a job very well done.

Thank you and "more clicks to your shutters".

Cheers

Thank you both for your feedback - glad you enjoyed it. A CMPG member is at the show every day and can give details of where we meet, in fact several of this year's more prolific exhibitors joined the group after visiting the last one.

If you do visit, check out the book which contains all the pictures in the exhibition which we did mainly as a souvenir for those taking part. It was made by PhotoBug, one of our sponsors, and although we'd seen the samples they keep at their shops we were knocked out by the quality so if you've got a collection of pictures of your own I'd really urge you to take a look. One of the things they do is a rather nifty boxed set of thin soft cover books which would be perfect for travel journals of several countries.

I loved the exhibit, beautiful photos and I appreciate the varied subjects. Very nicely done, Greenside

You don't have to signal a social conscience by looking like a frump. Lace knickers won't hasten the holocaust, you can ban the bomb in a feather boa just as well as without, and a mild interest in the length of hemlines doesn't necessarily disqualify you from reading Das Kapital and agreeing with every word. ~Elizabeth Bibesco

Doppa, sorry about your experience with the website. The software we use restricts us to 100 members after which we have to start paying some exorbitant fee so we are trying to restrict membership to those people who actually attend at least some meetings - the aim of the group being interaction in person. The usual routine is to leave applications "pending" until the person has come along to a meeting but we have a particularly high number waiting at the moment as a result of the exhibition so you got the "full" message. We have in the region of 60 people who qualify as active, including a contingent of Snowbirds, but the rest of our places have been taken up by others who have either moved away or just joined out of curiosity before we implemented this proceedure. Those who stay away are slowly being culled although they can always re-join if they come back to CM.

I've just cleared some old inactive accounts so please try joining again. If you just want to keep up to date with our events rather than come to meetings, then you can still access most of our site as a visitor or follow the CMPG on Facebook.

It was my day attending the show yesterday and it was good to meet so many people who enjoyed the pictures. Pleasingly, several had come along after seeing the announcement here on Thai Visa and when details half the events in Chiang Mai are hard to unearth, it shows the value of our online community.

I just got back from the exhibition and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a nice chat wth the club member who was over-seeing the booth. I enjoyed it enough to hopefully return for their "club" meeting next Wednesday evening... at the same location... Airport plaza north wing, 2nd floor.
