Cable Prices & Hdpe Pipe Prices

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what they pay for cable?

We require as follows:-

1300METERS of 2.5mm core

800 METERS of 1.5mm core

305 METERS of 25mm core

Cant seem to find many suppliers here in Hua Hin.

Also HDPE pipe....anyone know where I can get thin wall (3.2PN) all the supppliers only seem to have thick wall in stock

at much higher prices.

All cable is not created equal you need to specify a cable type or at least a purpose and location. Putting regular 2.5mm VAF in an underground conduit will lead to heartache.

You've mentioned before that you would like to use Aluminium cables, is this still on the cards?

The prices I got Crossy where for NYY as per the link you sent me on the other thread, if your right in your observation in our private converstaion then these sizes may be well off though. Obviously im looking for the most cost effective solution so if aluminium is an option that I will look at but BKK cables only seemed to have copper on offer.

Post #2 is worth reading again: "All cable is not created equal you need to specify a cable type or at least a purpose and location. Putting regular 2.5mm VAF in an underground conduit will lead to heartache."

I will add by one personal experience in Thailand that due to my ignorance, and not being given a choice by a fairly good electrician, I selected in 2008 the wrong type of conduit and wrong cable for gate lights and doorbell wire out at the gate that were not on any electric plan. The small fire and damaged electrical items inside our home in 2011 were a direct result of that ill informed cable and conduit decision. Water WILL seep into the wrong conduit, water will ruin the wrong electric wires and you will have problems at one point or another. Those darn "electric codes" are drawn up for a genuine reason.
