I Have A Buy A Bicycle... Is There Stealing Risk?

Featured Replies

Hi, I know Thai people are for most very honest.

But not all, and there are also farangs here.

Anyway, overall, I think there are very small risks, but I'd like your advice, do you think there are "chances" to get the bicycle stolled?

My GF attaches it with a lock, it should be Ok, no? Should we really be carefull, attach it to a fixed point, ..?

Thanks :)

I wouldn't take it out at weekends - or evenings - far too risk.

most would-be bicycle thieves would happily take wire cutters to the lock or jusr remove the wheel and take away the rest of the bike.

Yes,you need to lock it to something. If your wheels are quick release types take the front off and lock it with the rear wheel and frame.

Is this a 3,000 baht Tesco bike or a US$12,000 Canondale Supersix Evo Ultimate?

Of course, always lock the bike, but I think if you have a beater bike, it might be less tempting to "get wheels."
