Hi,

In Thai they call it จานจ่าย (DJANJAI) and it's a part in a the car that start the Engine.

Now the car ddoesn't work and garage said that the problem is this part and it will cost around 3000 Thb, so I wonder if it's a good price and how I could find it cheaper ?

Here are the photos of the part they want to change:

looks like the distributor to me.

looks like the distributor to me.

It is the distributor, are they replacing the whole thing or just a part of it?

Probably best over in the Thailand Motor Forum.

Topic Moved.

Have not priced a distributor in many years but cannot believe they retail for that much/3000 baht. Unless the housing is broken, the rotor itself is normally the problem. Go to a auto parts/supply and check the price. It only takes a few minutes to change the parts or the whole assembly.

Distributor looks like. Must be a rather old car, never seen one in years. Wouldn't bugger around with it myself as the timing will surely be all to hell after a DIY job

I would have thought a complete S/H engine for a distributor Corolla is going to be under 5000 baht , you need to find a car breakers.

What kind of gadget does your car use?
