Bkk Airport Transfers To Pattaya

If arriving at BKK late night without a transport booking, any suggestions on how to get directly to Pattaya?

Use one of those car counters? If so, what do they charge.

What about the taxi line outside the airport? Is it possible to get a taxi to Pattaya out there?

I'd recommend going directly to the Thai Limousine counter. They are always open. It has been a few years since I made the trip, but it was 1500 baht, and I don't think it has changed. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong / out of date)For this you get a Mercedes Benz direct from the airport to your hotel, highway tolls included.

You can also get a taxi outside at any hour, which will cost in the neighborhood of 1200 bt on the meter, not including tolls and airport surcharge, in a clapped out Toyota.

For the few extra baht, Thai Limousine and their fleet of Mercedes Benzes is the way to go.

Prices have gone up a little.

Meter taxi 1500 (you pay any tolls)

Limo 2000-2500 (they pay tolls)

Limos wil negotiate a little.

I take the meter taxi regularly upon arrival.

Or pay the same to stay the night in BKK and have a nice night then go at your leisure the next day on the bus for 110 baht from Ekkamai.

Up to you.

If you go up to the arrivals section you should be able to negotiate a taxi for 1200 baht + tolls. You can get a taxi from the official booth downstairs to take you to Pattaya but they are as crooked as a dogs hind leg.

best advice..................the bus is ok and no slower than taxi at a fraction of the price, you'll stay in bkk for less than 1000baht.....nana area is best, sukhumvit soi 7/1

You can probably negotiate a 1k ride (plus tolls) to Pattaya late night if you choose to upstairs at arrivals. My tried and true taxi stand on Second Rd/ Soi 13 has gone up to 850 baht + tolls from Pattaya to airport now. Never have understood why they are so darn hard to negotiate down at the airport but..?

Staying overnight in Bangkok is a pretty reasonable alternative though. After 20 hours in an airplane the last thing I usually want is another 1 3/4 hours in a taxi or limo. The aircon buses out of Ekamai aren't so bad. But remember it will cost you 30 baht or so on both ends (the BTS plus the taxi mafia at Pattaya bus terminal) so total is around 200 baht plus another 200 baht for the taxi from airport to Suk Av late at night.

I stayed in Bangkok for 36 hours the first week of November and that's about all I can stand. Between the bad air and the surly people everywhere, I just don't like Bangkok anymore. I'll take a relatively quiet apartment on Soi Bhuekow or Third Rd any day to the gridlock on the streets of Bangkok.

I'd vote for a local cab and an overnight, but if you really, really have to get to Pattaya you should also consider a car arranged by your hotel in Pattaya if you are staying in one. 1400-1500 should get the job done for you.

You can stay in the Dynasty Inn beside Nana Plaza, cost around 200 baht for meter taxi from airport and if you stay in 1 of the 2 dynasty hotels in Pattaya for a minimum of 2 nights then they will arrange a free minibus from dynasty inn bangkok to either hotel in Pattaya.

One night stay in bangkok is just over 1000 baht, 24 hour room service with a good selection of food although its a bit expensive and i think the rooms in pattaya are around 1200 baht per night, nice hotels imho and your only about 30 seconds walk from nana plaza if you want a bit of fun in bangkok. Minibus departs at 11am

In answer to the orginal question, if you're arriving late at night and you want to get to Pattaya, then it's either one of the limos from the counter or a taxi. I'd go for the limo as at that time of night it would be safer than a regular taxi.

If you're arriving in the day then you have the option of the bus or you can negotiate with taxi for a decent fair but arriving late at night doesn't give you many options.

Taxi or Limo: -

Meter Taxi with no meter should cost around 1200, a limo (and look at the actual vehicle first, it couldn be a nail!) is around 1500 to 2000. The tolls come to about 160 baht so you might have/want to pay them too.

Late at night the time should be about 90 - 120 min.

There are rooms at the airport if you want to get you head down for a few hours. They are available on an hourly rate if I remember rightly, but not cheap.

The minibus service starts at about 8.30.

I normally don't bother with the limo counter and go straight outside and haggle; this way I make sure that I get a nice new Camry not a 20 year old Merc!
