Hi all

Perhaps someone who has been there and done that might be able to help. Need to apply for a Tourist Visa for myself and a friend will be applying for a Non B in KL. Is it possible to make it from the intl airport to to Thai Embassy, flight lands at 10.15am....jump in a taxi to the Embassy? Never been so have no idea.

Anyone ..please??jap.gif

The Thai Embassy is on Jalan Ampang, at least a 75 minute drive providing that you don't encounter any traffic! A quicker way is to catch the train to KL Sentral, a 30 minute ride and then a taxi to the Embassy. All depends when you get to the train station and when it leaves.

I believe you have to submit your application before Midday so I think your chances are slim.

Lots of cheap place to stay for 1 night. many in China town area.

But realistically one needs two nights as first flight into KL won't get you to the embassy counter on time, especially if queues are long. So fliy in end if day, overnight, go to embassy early morning, pick up next day and fly out late afternoon.

Simple answer No or very tight,, you may land at 10:15, but the time is take to get out of the airport adds another 30 + mins

A quicker way is to catch the train is non stop to KL Sentral, a 30 minute ride and then the underground to Ampang cost 2 RM from Sentral, up the stairs turn right under the road and out, fast take a taxi cost 4 RM or walk, nice 15 min walk. straight over the traffic lights and straight...

Directions are easy as everyone speaks English and helpful

Out of interest at the Hotel in China Town another person got a Taxi, I went by underground + walked......... I spent 2 Rm, the person that got a Taxi arrived after me and Taxi cost 20 RM...

Edit: December last was my 1st Visit to KL, I'm in my 60's but found it all very easy

It is about a 5-10 minute walk from Jalan Ampang station.

When I went for my visa a few months ago the embassy opened at 9.30 but I got there at 8.30 and there were already people queuing. When I left at about 10.15 the queue outside was massive so I'm not sure if everyone got in or they turn people away when it shuts?

That was on a Monday so maybe it is less busy in the week?

I was wondering if it was quieter mid-week myself. I'll be there in a week of so and still to book flights from Chiang Mai, anyone?
