I'd like to book an online resv for the 167 train to Surat Thani & then a connecting ferry to Koh Phangan. How can I book the combo deal online as the date I will be traveling may be heavily booked & want to book online ahead of time. I'd do it at the actual station, But I'm not there yet. any suggestions?

Thanks

What I did was take air asia to surit thani, then took A bus to Dun sak, then took the raja car ferry,it worked for me.As far as hooking up with train/ferry at the same time i'm not sure.

You can book train tickets online here: http://www.thairailticket.com/esrt/

Sorry, I have know idea about train-boat combinations but they'll be no shortage of options getting to Koh Pangan once you're in Surat Thani (I guess there are plenty of bus operators going to the pier - who will probably try to rip you off....).

This is another option, except they offer a bus-boat service. Probably a bit more expensive but faster and very convenient. It looks like you can book online, or you can visit their office near Khao San Road:http://www.lomprayah.com/E/index.htm

Raja Ferry connects with most trains and is the best option, its direct to the island. No need to book combo ticket ahead of time, just book the train - not sure how well that online booking thing works tho so be sure and report back

Don't book online in advance on this particular journey. Don't worry too much.

Make sure you arrive in surat in the morning and you will have all day to arrange a bus-ferry-van-beachhouse combo. People will come to you to arrange a combo for you in surat.
