Glitter

Featured Replies

Yea we did this argument before, only to find out that if you have a problem with glitter music being played, you're an idiot. Something like that. :o

Tuned intoThai Visa radio. Only to hear Gary Glitter. :o

I could not even name one of his tunes.

I wonder if any radio station in the world would have a Tribute to the guy if they hang him in Vietnam :D

.No dear, but this year they are going to hang glitter

What behavior is that precisely that he has behaved?

uhm, I believe screwing underage girls. However, I'm positive the same behavior is done on a regular basis in Viet Nam, probably by the judge, jury (ha!), and executioneers.

Hey song - Rock and Roll Part 2! Play it incessantly at yank sporting events. :D

The music was great stuff!

Glitter was my 3rd favourite after Slade and Wizzard, back in the 70s

As BM points out Rock and Roll pt 2 is still frequently played as US sports grounds.

'Do you wanna touch me?', 'Leader of the Gang', 'I love you love'. . It was powerful material - two drummers.

There was the image too, which was proto-typical Glam Rock. Ironic in many ways as it was intentionally exaggerated by Glitter, with his stomping around in his platform boots and gurning at camera.

After Glam burned out in the mid seventies, Gary Glitter returned in the mid eighties to a tour of University venues - where the wit of the image and the strong music helped to fill the concerts.

So in a nutshell, thats why the UK media are following the story of his downfull and unsavory behaviour. Whilst not known elsewhere, he was a big star in Britain and one who people remember fondly from the seventies.

They are into shooting falling stars there :o

Are you a fan of  :D angels :o

If we're gonna stop playing glitter songs we had better stop playing a whole host of other artists too, because I can assure you he is not the only one to do something bad.

If you could write up a list of which crimes are ok and which ones mean you don't get to be played on the radio anymore, then we could all look at it and then tell you if we think you're right or not.

It could take some time.
