PM Pleased with Two Approved Loan Decrees

BANGKOK: -- The Prime Minister said the two approved loan decrees have increased the government's efficiency in assisting flood victims.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra yesterday gave an interview to the press, expressing her appreciation after the parliament have approved the two loan decrees that would fund flood-prevention projects and to relieve the flood victims' misery.

She pointed out that the fund would be managed to help the business sector as well.

Yingluck added personally that her goal was to let the parliament approve all the four decrees which were interconnected simultaneously so that the government will efficiently administrate a water management system.

However, she is willing to abide by the Constitution Court's ruling.

As of now, the government is awaiting decision from the Constitution Court whether the other two decrees would be approved or not

The Prime Minister urged the Court to finalize their verdict as soon as possible.

Yingluck claimed that the other two decrees would greatly assist the large business operators as well as the small and medium entrepreneurs or SMEs.

However, a few Democrat MPs have shown disapproval by walking out of the parliamentary debate on this issue.

Yingluck added the recent debate is likely to support the two decrees.

In addition, the Prime Minister plans to thoroughly investigate water problems in the upstream, midstream, and downstream areas in order to strategize an effective water management plan.

She said she will find out how the water management plan that was proposed by the Strategic Committee for Reconstruction and Future Development or SCRF will turn out.

Yingluck added that the authorities are now dredging some tributaries.

In order to administrate you need something in place to be administrated. Having funds 'more-or-less' allocated helps, but now for the details on the 'Water Management Plan'. Any details yet? Just dredging some tributaries seems somewhat arbitrary ?
