February 21, 201214 yr If you want to eat at home you can go to Rimping as they have "Curry Nights" in stock in the freezer section Many ranges of Indian curries. Also have Pilaw and Yellow Rice as well as Onion Bhajis.Best curry l have had in Thailand and not expensive. Give it a try 'Curry Nights' supply most of my curries now Techno and as you say, they are the best curries in the Anglo-Indian genre that you can get in Thailand. i had the chicken Tikka Masala tonight with an Onion Bhaji, British style Poppodoms, Onion Salad, Mango Chutney, and a roti. Especially nice washed down with a pint of kilkenny!! Even you would be impressed, Uptheos if you would come in and sample one. Re-introduce yourself and I'll buy you a curry of your choice!! Cold Beer, Warm Atmosphere
February 21, 201214 yr Anyone tried this place?? I don't recall the name but go down Loh Kroh, and take 'The Number 1 Bar' soi on the right...then it's just past Number 1 Bar on the left. It's one of those open fronted townhouses... certainly not anything special to look at, and not a choice for the wifes birthday etc, but for a quick Indian fix it's bang on (and cheap). February 22, 201214 yr Yes - the one on Loi Kroh is very good - my current favourite (even UG liked it!). They used to have dosas on the menu, but nobody bought them. http://www.rajdarbar...com/p/menu.html I haven't been to New Delhi for a while, but it used to be my favourite. A couple of the Middle Eastern restaurants near the night bazaar do some pretty good (and expensive) Indian food. Anyways, this topic is the similar to all of these. Same restaurants discussed. Same self-promoting ads for frozen curries. Same conclusions. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/512285-authentic-indian-restaurant/ http://www.thaivisa....6-curry-nights/ http://www.thaivisa....ic-indian-food/ http://www.thaivisa....sma-restaurant/
February 22, 201214 yr New Delhi gets my vote. The service and standard of food has always been very good.
February 22, 201214 yr Indian food is more than a 'hot curry' and the best I have found in Chiang Mai is an unassuming little place opposite the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel on that road that cuts across the bottom of the Loi Kroh Road but before the night bazaar. Its on the left if you walk from Loi Kroh with the hotel on your right. Cheap, great service, even greater food! I'd like to go there with el jeffe! As someone else previously said it's called "Taste of India" The best one I've had in Asia, I go twice a week and it's cheap.
February 22, 201214 yr Hinlay for me. Lovely quiet calm setting, good food and now homemade ice cream - what more do you need?
