Need Advise On Divorce

Featured Replies

My wife left me three years ago for another man , we were married for five years , i live in ireland and she is still in ireland too , she has no passport or valid visa , i want a divorce but the chance of getting her back to thailand is zero.......any advise please

If you were married at an Amphur in Thailand and you can get her to go to a Thai Embassy or Consulate you can do it there. With both parties present should only take 30 minutes.

Since both of you are living in Ireland, you will have to file for divorce in an Irish court, under Irish law. Get legal help in Ireland to see how best to proceed.

A divorce at a Thai consulate might not be recognised by the Irish government. Some people have divorced at the embassy in London, only to find out that their divrce is recgnized by Thailand but not by the UK!

Of course it would be cheaper and easier for both of you to divorce in Thailand.
