chiang mai
Walk into any bank and ask for a bank draft or a cashiers cheque, they are effectively the same thing, all done in three minutes or so, no pre-requisites to getting one.

Thailand
Won't the consulate take cash for the "proof of income" letter?

bangkokburning
Where is this India?? This is not your home country? Your home country and you are asking us about drafts in your country???? What am I missing - sorry. Emb/Consulates do this to cut down on issues of theft, keeps things organized. How and where yo obtain a draft will wholly depend on what country you are in but you can start by walking into a bank and say: I need a bank draft or bank check. Gone
I don't get how a bank draft can show proof of income? If you mean getting a bank record to show proof of income then yes you can go into your bank and pay 300 baht for a print out and depending how busy the bank is you might get it later that day or as I had to do go back the next day.
