An instant cure to your electric problem!

412gDoe-ZfL.jpg

Thank you so much for your kind consideration regarding my electric socket problem, but I must point out that I have two extension leads at present powering 3 set ups so another one does seem to be a trite over the top. Albeit I did like the colour Color AM it had an earth wire totally pointless in Thailand.

Mrs H/M as I tap is making her decision on where the final resting place for Fridges/Freezers will be once that's been ascertained H/M will put in the correct fittings. Hopefully it'll be before Christmas.

The earth wire is not a problem. Just break off the pin on the plug like the Thai's do..

Yes, or he could buy a 3pin to 2pin adapter for only a few baht!!!

H/M thinks you two have connections with that old firm Bodge it and op it.

I used to use the Thai way until I had a wire melt and catch fire now it's do it right western style or not at all.

Thanks anyway for your suggestions.

Thinks your not trying to get rid of the upper class H/M are you, just try and imagine where you lot would be without my input on what's going on locally.

It'll be noodles and nothing but the noodles. I rest my case me lord.

Next week H/M will be orf to Pattaya Via Uthai Thani going to have the tank serviced at Toyota there. Have told K.P.P Toyota they are at best idiots and wont be using them again. Don't think I'll be welcome anyway as Toyota head office has given then what for, great thing this internet thing if you want to stir up the Sh/t.

Stand by for my full not pulling any punches report on how thing's are progressing travel wise in N/S.

WOW! What did I miss yesterday?

Anyway Nong, you being the leader of knowledge in our fair and upper class city, do you know where Yamazaki has gone to from the old Big C mall?

I was wondering if that lot Norf of the border had got jealous of all the facilities we have here and had nicked it!

You obviously received your answer and no one else wants to get "canned" for repeating it!

It's not gone, but is moving to where the old Bangkok Bank was located. They said they were due to re-open in 4 weeks time. That was 6 weeks ago.

It would seem that they're running late.

It's still be in the 'mall'. It hasn't gone and it isn't leaving. It's not open just yet. It's now all of 30m away from the original site (a bit farther if walking around the escalator).

There's a marked difference between 'gone to from the old Big C mall' (your words) and ' gone to within the old Big C mall' (mine) with no reason to resort to cap's.

Hi Jerry, No offense was intended in my reply to you, ( sorry about capitals) all I was saying that when I went to buy bread the other day it had gone from its normal spot and was asking where it had gone to as I had a look around and didn't see it anywhere.

Again Jerry, thanks for the information.

Sorry for the late reply, Yamazaki closed down for about a month and should be open this week, from what they told us go to Aunntie Annies and look towards the escalator, go to your right they will be somewhere down there, a few shops were open in that area last week but not them. Downstairs in Telephoneland also a big makeover, this looks like a response to "The Walk" which looks like an upmarket version of BIG C number 1.

BIG C number one for those who are interested and here I mean the whole shopping centre is owned by Vittethep, they have the shopping centre just past Fairyland on the right hand side, hence "V Square" department store. I notice when the management are touring the centre they are from "V Square".

So, what about this High Speed Railway from China to Thailand then, rumour has it that its coming through Nakhon Sawan to service the Chinese business community, well the Chinese are funding and building it, but where will the station be and equally as important how many noodle outlets will there be!!!!!!!!

No problem with the late reply mate and thanks for the info, I'll have a look next week when I go do my 90 day report!

As for the HS Railway, well which other city is more suited than this fine city of ours? None!

My wife's nephew is an assistant manager at the place and she can't even find out when it will reopen!

Fine city indeed anyway thanks for the laugh.

H/M goes away for an extended holiday to the Pits AKA Pattaya. More on that at a later date.

Then on my return I find that N/S is now fast becoming Thailand answer to Clapham junction.

For those that don't know that you'll have to use Google.

I would like to ask haven't you mob had enough with the new bypass that's being erected.

Must say though that it at least makes a change from all the grey diesel coloured trees that abound there, now they are a shade of brown from all the dust.

So now your looking forward to yet more fume belching lorries while they set up some train tracts are you sure.

Ah the bypass update on same.

As you enter using the slope down it starts POT holes Ruts Thousands Na Millions of the buggers this doesn't stop till you get to about 8km short of K.P.P province.

This morning H/M will be going to his local Toyota dealers to have his suspension checked, thank Buddha I have a tank. Thanks a bunch N/S.

Cant give an accurate update on the so called town itself as even with the Pot holes the bypass is still a much better bet than the hoards of traffic and traffic lights.

Fine city still trying to work out where your referring to.

H/M.

Welcome back from your vacation and Happy Thanksgiving to everybody. It was yesterday here but it's still Thursday in the US.

Roasted a duck with mash potatoes and giblet gravy. I cut off what I wanted from the duck, chopped the rest and watch everybody eat it Thai style dipping each piece in Nam Prik. My niece finished the mash potatoes as if they were a bowl of ice cream.

I thought that you were finished with the Toyota dealer in KPP and were taking your business to Uthai Thani, or was that just for someone who frequents the motor forum?

Hey up folks, Fred's back from Sin City, hope you had a good one!

It would appear that you are not too keen on living up there in Kippers as you have just got back from Blighty and now from Patts and I suppose soon you will be visiting our Fair city to use our Imm Office as you don't have one, and I predict that when our Fine city gets our HS train station you will be coming down here to use that!!!

All cos Kippers don't have owt!!!

I must apologise for not wishing everyone concerned a very happy thanks giving.

So we had Duck did we Wayne. I did try cooking that once did it the English way and ended up eating it all myself, not the end of the world but I was a bit 'Ducked' up by the end.

I must point out at this juncture that it will soon be Wayne's birthday H/M does believe it's the big 55 one. And no I haven't received any monies for lying. But I live in hopes.

Regards Uthai Thani yes I did use them on the way down to Patts they were first rate.

I arrived at 9.20am for my booking at 9.30 at 9.33 in the tank went and all was sorted with extras added, paid up and on my way by 10.05pm.

No problem regards a certain person I have chosen to put an ignore against his name and now cant see any of his posts.

I then commenced my journey to that heavenly place the afore mentioned Patts nothing has changed every other shop is a hooker bar, and the traffic made N/S seem a mere trifle. But one thing it doesn't have is as many pot holes.

For all's information I had to go for a Birthday party for an old pal, also had to meet up with some chums that had decided to holiday there. Everyone seemed to be having a good time with the exception of H/M who was a trite peed orf even before I arrived.

Reason it took me believe it or not well over 4 hours to get from the start of the 9 to patts the BKK end was ok but the last bit it was nose to tail all the way. My Sat/Nav said I would arrive at 2.15pm and I got to the hotel at sometime after 4.30.

Must admit K.P.P doesn't have owt.

Well no pot holes, traffic, no fumes, but we do have plenty of green trees also many good farang restaurants something I do believe N/S seems short of. Only last night I indulged in a rare rib eye steak with all the trimmings and happy to state it was delish.

And yes I shall have to pop along to the N/S visa office late January for my yearly one but thank Buddha it'll be by post after that.

H/M doesn't use trains gave that up when the smoking variety ended.

The new line so they say will be electric, I can see it now when your Clapham Junction is completed it'll be power outages in N/S every half hour or so.

For Rotts benefit I do talk rubbish all the time, and I don't drink. Well just the odd pint. But the pot holes and ruts were correct as of Thursday the 27th.

I stopped celebrating my birthday at 29! I now call it an anniversary so, yes, this month, I will be celebrating the 41st anniversary of my 29th birthday. I know that some "Kippers" will have to use a calculator to figure out how old that makes me.

I haven't been to Pattaya in over 18 years but can imagine what it would be like today. My last trip to Samui was in 2004 but keep in touch with friends there and it sounds like they will have to start reclaiming land from the sea. They even now have one way paved streets through Chaweng, it was a dirt track when I arrived in 1998.

So Pattaya had hookers and fewer potholes but no noodles? Sounds like a real business opportunity for Dave! Time to get out the jack hammer and start building noodle carts.

They black topped a portion of one of the dirt roads leading to my house a couple of years ago "Thai style". There's only one pothole, the entire road. It almost impassable and the we use the dirt roads to bypass it, much like the NS bypass. The army has cracked down on the builder, a reported mafia boss, and is making him dig up and repave the other roads that he screwed up not putting down the 6" of paving that he was paid to do. Hopefully he will get to our road soon!

Had a go at your age via the calculator and I make it 50. Can I have my monies now. Am willing to travel for same.

I went to Samui once some 20 odd years ago and as you stated Chaweng beach road was a gravel track with little or nothing there.

I remember walking along a beach the one by the Big Buddha, umbrella in hand I felt like Robinson Crusoe as I was the only peeps on there. I do believe it's has changed somewhat since then.

Phuket's been buggered as well, also 20 + years ago it was not to dissimilar to Samui now it's all hotels plastic crap on the so called beach's commercialised beyond redemption. They the Thai's have completely buggered it.

Patts has as far as I know has always been rubbish you colonist started that with your R&R.

At least it has given the Isan peeps a way of earning a good living.

Just one problem the price of things there has gone through the roof. But if you know where to go you can still get a decent meal and a few beers without having to get a bank loan.

There's where Dave come's in as you suggested selling N/S Noodles orf a stall. Pretty soon he could be like the top copper they have just arrested and filling his house with gold ingots and piles of cash.

I wouldn't hold your breath on getting your road fixed N/S elders cant even get the 1 sorted it's been the pit's to my knowledge for the last several years.

I have heard it's lack of cash, if they didn't pilfer it all things might get changed.

They could start with watering the flower beds down the centre of the main road then maybe the brown grass and the odd flower wouldn't be dead like it was on my last trip through. If it got going it could help hide the plastic crap that abounded. Thus killing two stones with one bird or something like that.

Update I just thought you might like to know that I am now getting 26.something M/B from my new TOT set up not the 20 they promised. Only problem TV still takes forever to send a post this modified one took over 20 min: to get in that was after several tries.

No money forthcoming so you should buy some new batteries for your calculator. I'll be 70, just an older crankier, more crotchety, and more cantankerous old fart, nothing's changed!

As far as watering the flowers and washing your chariots, they are still doing both in the small town near where I live. Makes a lot of sense, make the flowers pretty and drive around in clean cars, but don't allow the farmers to use the water in the dams to grown crops! It seems to me that it would be more beneficial to release the water for crops rather than watering flowers, gardens lawns and washing vehicles. Maybe even impose a fine for unnecessary use of water as some countries do.

The "boss" was aggressively redoing one of the other "potholes" that he created in the past and hopefully the army will send him our way to fix ours when he is finished. The word is that it's totally out of his pocket with no government funding.

I guess that I contributed to the downfall of Pattaya as I was one of those who spent one night there on R&R back in the late 1960s, flying in from Da Nang in a DC3, sitting on my helmet so I wouldn't get shot in the a**. I remember leaving as they had all kinds of shops set up at Utapao. I used the rest of my "American" money, less than $100, and bought 7 blue stones, supposedly sapphires. I thought that they were junk but when I got home my wife took them to a shop and had them appraised. They were worth over $15,000. She had a ring made that went with her when she left 16 years later.

Yeah Fred, I have to agree with you that K.P.P. doesn't have pot holes. Try going down the Kanu road towards the sugar cane processing place, they are more like bloody craters than pot holes!!!

Anyway I thought you drove a tank, so shouldn't have a prob with a few pot holes on our ring road!!!
