Truevisionstv Subscription Refund

Just thought I would post something positive about Truevision TV and the service.

I had been a subscriber for over 5 years both in Pattaya and here in Banchang

I stopped my service back on 24 Jan 2012, effective the 24th. Notified True via email earlier in the month. Received phone calls asking me why and would I choose to stay on with an incentive of some free TV for a few months. I declined all offers as I was switching to another Sat system.

It took about a week to get the Rayong rep to come to my place to get the box and dish.

Within a week or so of the removal of the dish and box I get a notice in the post from True that I will receive the 2,000 baht refund check within a month of the this notice.

Just today I get a EMS registered check from True drawn on Citi Bank BKK for 2,000 baht

So, I guess I lead a charmed life or True is really not as bad as some folks make them out to be. I stopped the service due to wanting to save some baht not because of poor service.

I can definitely use the extra 2K

If anyone asks I now have one of those Sat systems we cannot discuss here on TV

you are a lucky man indeeed.

When i cancelled my truevision subscription for the same reason as yours, i was offered the freebies as well. But i had service issues with them too, and during my outstanding payment being made over the counter, i did ask the cashier to offset the deposit - leaving me to pay only baht 700.

But then that was back in early january - true call center guys have called me on three occasions trying to tell me that someone will turn up to collect the dish and the STB - but it hasnt happened so far.

I reckon this matter of receiving good customer care is probably not consistent over all coverage areas.

Enjoy your 2000 baht !

Glad to hear you got your deposit back easily...I live in Bangkok and haven't been that lucky. In my case, the Thai wife (TrueVisions account in her name) and I have turned in one of our two settop boxes about 18 months ago and it took 5 to 6 months to get the 2,000 baht back after numerous phone calls to True and visits to their customer service center. Actually, when the dust settled we never got the check in the mail but True gave us a 2,000 baht credit on our bill...the customer service rep who gave us the credit seemed as frustrated with the process as we where.

The second time was when we turned in the remaining DSTV (satellite) box last June since we switched to TrueVisions CATV (cable) and cable internet...it took us exactly 100 days to get the 2,000 baht TrueVisions deposit refund check in the mail...once again it took several phone calls and a two visits to the customers support center. Gosh knows how long it would have took, if ever, without the follow-ups.

And in both cases we did not start the follow-up phone calls/visits until 60 days after the boxes had been picked up by True and we didn't owe any balance on our monthly bills as we always pay within a few days of getting any monthly bill. When turning in the boxes True told us in both cases we would get the check in approx 45 days from box turn-in with the pink notice confirming the owed refund showing up in 2 to 3 weeks after box pickup. In both cases we got the pink notice in the mail approx 3 weeks later which confirms True owes us/will be sending us a check, but the check just never showed up without follow-up, upon follow-up.

During the follow-ups the True rep could always confirm by looking into their computer system that no check had been issued/mailed yet and they said they would follow-up...in many cases they would follow-up on the phone while we were seting at the customer service desk and also let us talk to the person on the phone....this was usually a person in their accounts/billing department. The usual response was they can't see any problem and just give the process a few more weeks....if you don't get the check soon we will restart the check issue process.

Now at some point in the future when we cancel our TrueVisions CATV service for whatever reason, we will of course turn in the two boxes (worth 4,000 baht in deposits) we currently have but I will be sure not to pay the last monthly bill due. At least that will more than cover the deposit cost of one box and partially for the other one. I realize any refund issued will be adjusted for bill balance due. I would rather not do it this way, but we have been burnt two times by TrueVisions in being put through way too much hassle in getting our deposit back.

We also have a Thai neighborer right now trying to get his refund....it has been about 2.5 months for him with no deposit refund yet....maybe it's just a Bangkok TrueVisions thing.

Hopefully some day TrueVisions will have some real competition which will hopefully force them to pay more attention to their deposit refund process. Their billing process has zero problems as their bills always find my mailbox; but refunds apparently can't find my mailbox. I have zero issues with their TrueVisions or TrueOnline technical support as it's always been very, very responsive; it's just TrueVisions deposit refund process that sucks/is broke in my humble opinion.
