Mri Costs $1,080 In America And $280 In France ... How Much In Thailand?

Health procedure costs vary between countries and also of course between providers.

This might be an interesting exercise in cost comparison.

If you have had an MRI in Thailand and you know the cost, can you post about it?

Relevant info.

Was it a retail price? Do you think you got the f-rang tourist price or managed to get classified as an expat resident? Class of hospital? If paid by insurance, what was the cost to the insurance company?

About 4 years ago - MRI on lower spine at Bumrungrad - B14,000 (if memory serves me correctly) - Insurance pays for advanced imaging.

A few months ago - CT Scan on Chest at Samitivej - B20,000 to B30,000 including addons (approximately, can't remember exactly) - Insurance pays for advanced imaging.

around 20,000 would be average for private hospital, but it does vary by type of MRI (where on the body, with or without contrast) and also the hospital

Government hospitals much less but (as I suspect is also the case in France) this is not actual full cost as it is heavily subsidized
