Yesterday I went to a large Honda dealership here in Chiang Mai to check out a red PCX, couldn't get one for a couple of weeks so went to another dealer, same story, must wait a couple of weeks, went to a third dealer and the same .Price at first dealer was 78,900 Baht all up, second dealer 83,000 all up and third dealer 77,900 Baht all up and including two helmets and a backpack, didn't want the helmets or backpack so they knocked a further thousand off. Wait a couple of weeks and price on the road 76,900 Baht. 6,100 cheaper than one of the dealers. Shop around.

In Bangkok the price of a PCX 150cc is 73.500 baht.

If you ask the Honda dealers in Chiang mai why such a big price difference, they say transport costs, nonsense of course.

I Think the Honda dealers in Chiang mai have price arrangements amongst each other.

I would just tell them what you want to pay and they can take it or leave it. Going to Bangkok to get one and putting it on a train (or riding it back. :) ) is a pain, but if the difference is large enough then it could be worth it.

Can you tell us which dealer gave you the 76,900 price? I went to two dealers - one on Huay Kaew and the other near the Smith residence - and they both were over 80.000.

Thanks....

Yes, the one on Huay Kaew wanted 83,000 Baht, am getting my red one from Nihon Panich [spelling?] near Central Airport. Will take two weeks to get here.

I was also offered, and acepted theft insurance , one year for 1,600 Baht and two years for 2,600 Baht. First year if bike is stolen they will pay out 95% of cost, second year 80%. not sure if it is only theft or what. Couldn't be happier with the deal and the service I received.

Today I went into the Honda dealership on Koh Samui, they told me the bike will be coming in the next week , when I asked how much I was told that the price was 83,000 bht and when i said that I heard it was only 75,000 bht in Bangkok they replied " Go to Bangkok and buy it " because we give no discount. Problem on Samui is that there are only two Honda shops owned by the same person.

If that was the case, why the price difference at different dealers? unsure.png

Hi Paul,

Thanks for sharing all this info with us. Did any of the dealers have to give you a "Test Drive"? Thanks again, and please keep me/us updated with your experience of riding etc the new 150. I like the look of it and am wonderig how it will perform if diven from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai or Fang?

Yes would be good to know what dealer is making the best deal for you

I have my eye on a red one !

The recommended retail price is 69,800++ according to 'Motorcycle Thailand'. You could always buy one elsewhere and post it home. The Thai Postal service offer an excellent service from most post offices.
