HeavyDrinker
John Smith's or Tetleys and Strongbow (served half a pint at a time in a pint glass over ice...refreshing isn't the word especially at this time of year)

RedNIvar
What is an expat bar? A meeting place for secret millionaires, ex-SAS, olympic gold medallists, retired muay-thai champions, etc. Aaah... so he meant Patpong, Nana, and Cowboy. These are places where locals are not allowed, only "Expats". They hardly have anything on tap, if they do it's usually Singha or Chang.

Yeah, you got the general idea - although I suspect that there may be some expat bars outside Patpong, Nana and Kwaiboy. And dont forget that most also have the mysteriously popular Dutch horse piss - Heineken.

Okay I admit I've tasted water (once), and Heineken doesn't even come f*cking close its taste. Actually. It was the Great Philosopher Eric Idle who said: drinking australian beer is like making love in a boat.... it is fuc_king close to water. Of course this has not to be taken literally. Same goes for all those mass produced lagers. And Eric was a pom. Poms drink anything, if it contains alcohol. Watneys for instance. Unless of course they are hiso poms. Hiso poms drink stella. Don't blame us belgians for that. It's the free market you know, we only sell it, and it is better than nothing (heineken).

There is a good thing about monks - I never thought I would say such a thing. There is a good thing about belgian monks - trappists - they brew real beer. There is a good thing about me flying to belgium next sunday - actually six good things: westmalle / vleteren / orval / rochefort / chimay / kriek There is a good thing about me coming back to chanthaburi: durian
TallGuyJohninBKK
not in a bar but in my fridge my favourite beer is: I don't recall ever seeing it in a bar here...though it may be somewhere... But I do see it regularly at both Villa and a few of the larger Central markets. Bud, not that I'd want...not that I can ever recall... Sam Adams, I could want, not that I can ever recall. Chimay comes with blue , brown and white caps. If I remember correctly. The problem of remembering being the result of having been out of belgium for so long, not because of overconsumption. But the blue cap is the best one. I think. But then again Nothing wrong with an in dept investigation.
SantiSuk
Just about anything that is brewed by an enthusiastic brewer in a proper brewery (decent lagers included, given that we live in a hot climate), rather than manufactured in a factory by 'operators' directed by accountants and corporate chemical engineering graduates.
