Repair Phone In Patong - Where?

Featured Replies

Where can I repair my cell phone? IT-island in Jungceylon has always felt like a ocean of ripoffs so I'd prefer not even go there to ask. Any other place? Maybe authorized Sony Ericsson shop? I bought it in Europe and I am not planning to go there for some time.

The problem: My Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc spontanously turns itself off, spontanously restarts, discharges extremely quickly and usually dont even accept charding (from various chargers). Googling indicates that this is a common problem but I cant reallly find a solution. Maybe there is none.

I Had a Sony ericsson repaired at IT ISLAND in patong it lasted about 6 months before the same problem came back 800baht down the tubes. Took it to Sony shop at the car park level at Big C repaired it with Sony part and the Guy told me the previous repair had used copy part which he give to me, New repair 800baht.

So there you go

At IT-Island they even sell 256 and 512 GB USB-Sticks! Such monsters are not available, but they got Kingston's on display. Never ever would I buy there or even bring something in for repair.

I went to the shop on sainamyen road OPPOSITE to Patong hospital and next to MVC hotel. Here's my experience and results:

He fixed evereything. Actually two phones.

Right away he gave the impression of not being a bullsh*tter often found on IT Island. He said if he cant fix I dont have to pay.

I wanted to fix my Sone Ericsson Arc (I suspected software problems) and Samsung Galaxy 2 (cracked screen).

Have gave final price in advance. Arc 700bath, 2 days. Samsung 6800 bath 1 week.

Arc delivered on time. Everything works like a charm. He said he repaired the Android installation. All old apps intact.

Samsung Galaxy 2 was fixed on time too. I was worried about getting a copy screen but he assured me in advanced that it would be original. From what I can determine the screen is original. (I visually evaluated viewing angles, colors etc. If it's fake then it's a great fake.)

So, all in all this is certainly the place I wil go next time. Thanks for the tip.
