Phuket Is Really Unbelievable

Just got done reading the islands leading newspaper. One article is about how they cant seen to find any of the largest casinos? A local resident commented on how he could lend them his white walking stick because you would have to be blind to not know where they are. Is anybody in charge of that town, or anybody in Bangkok care? Another article about the 24 yr old lad from Australia missing and found hanged on a beach. The police ruled suicide, yet everybody that knows him say he is really happy in life. So a happy 24 yr old goes on vacation in Phuket and decides to hang himself on the beach after he took out lots of money with his ATM card? <deleted>? After all these years here I am really depressed reading one days new in the paper. Maybe at some point I just would like to see a tiny bit of justice served in this country. Not gonna happen, too much money to be made. Rant over, thanks

This forum needs an official whinge thread where all the rants and gripes can be had without creating numerous threads.

^Good idea Goober - perhaps there should be two separate ones. One for expats and the other for both frequent and newby tourists to the island. It would be interesting to compare the comments. Someone could make book on whether either thread would remain open beyond the first page. As to the casino, I need a white cane as well - the first I've heard about it/them was when I read it in the paper. The on again/off again official casino (Saphan Hin?) hasn't hit the news for a few years, so I suppose it is off again...
