What's the link/source, gburns?

Drugs again? :o

A lot of Asians go to Australia and get into the drug trafficking as a quick money earner. I met a few Asian guys years back when I got busted for overstayiong my visa in Australia. (NO, I did not do any other crime, only overstay of visa) They had all served there time in the big house in OZ and were getting deported to whatever country they had come from. They were all fighting the deportation. I was told by one of the guards that these guys knew that as soon as they got back to China or wherever that they knew they were going to DIE. Harsh reality but they knew the consequinces before they got into the biz.

These guys are different in the sense that they are in a country with very harsh penalties for even having the drugs. ( the guys in OZ were dealing drugs there). So as alot of guys on here will say: Som nom na or something close to that.

Hope so....maybe it will sink into these guys that when you deal in drugs....it can cost you the ulitimate penalty....if it stops one drug mule or saves 1 life in Oz...then it is worth it.....this guy was holding about 20,000 single 0.1 gm hits....nearly a million bucks worth of heroine. No sympathy for him and his kind

My brother was in Hanoi last year. He said he saw people smoking heroin in the streets and the place is crawling with euro hippy addicts. People whispered "heroin" to him many times. If it was going on in Saigon he didn't see it, but in Hanoi it was plainly visable.

That's what they get for 'winning' the war... :o

Funny that Australia was outraged at the execution of the bloke a few weeks ago yet send Asians back to 'certain death'

My God, you would think at his age he would know better.

I feel sorry for him, but who's to blame, only got himself poor sod

Some Australians were.....not the majority

There is no evidence to support Kringles claims about guys being deported back to certain deaths.

Another reason to legalise ALL drugs - it would save a lot of uneccessary deaths.

We just had a 78 yo guy busted for heroin dealing (he had over a million in assets) here and a number of years back now, a couple of Grannies were arrested and jailed for drug importation. Age seems to make little difference.

There are amazing profits to be made. Has anyone here really never thought about doing such a thing? The last 5 times I've flown into western countries from Thailand I've never been searched.

I have a lot of sympathy for SOME of these drug dealers, especially the ones who are addicted themselves and cannot see clearly and are desparate. I really think that addicts should be given lesser sentences than the evil ones.

There is a lot of difference to being in possession as an addict and dealing or trafficking for profit. Very few Drug rings use addicts for transporting as these people are usually unreliable and sometimes easily recognised. After all why would you send an addict across 3 nations or more with stoppovers with the exact stuff that they crave.

Most drug rings try to use average looking Joe types and the elderly as there is less likelyhood of them being detected. They maybe doing it for a variety of reasons but it is rarely out of addiction and usually for quick profit.

Sorry mate...again no sympathy for addicts....they make the choice to use in the first place.
