December 20, 200520 yr Hello all, i'm new here, live in pattaya for a week already (in View Talay) and need a professional barber, any ideas ?thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hello Lyops and welcome to the forum. There are hundreds of barbers in Pattaya....most would consider themselves very good.....try one and see how you go. but don`t ask for a number neung if you want a number sarm. I am lucky as my better half is a great barber.
December 20, 200520 yr Hello all, i'm new here, live in pattaya for a week already (in View Talay) and need a professional barber, any ideas ?thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I cant tell you were there is aa good barber, but could tell you lots of bad ones! The standard for men here is pretty low. One "cut" springs to mind, thought the girl was really trying hard and trying to make a good job, then noticed empty whisky bottles lying around and realised she was just trying to see what she was doing - "blind drunk" Good Luck
December 20, 200520 yr I have a great hairdresser in Sriracha. She is gorgeous and gives me an extra special massage each time (not that extra special, she also does my wifes hair). The massage lasts a lot longer than the haircut, my wife can never work out why my hair cut takes 30 minutes longer than her colour, perm, treatment and blow dry
December 20, 200520 yr I also have a great hairdresser Nang just on 2nd road just before the dolphin roundabout Professionally trained and the attention to detail is second to none (got to be said not the cheapest though)
December 21, 200520 yr In Pattaya: next to the "Ritz" in Soi Yamato.....ask for Nan. In Jomtien: Tim's Barber and Beauty Shop in Jomtien Beach Condominium
December 21, 200520 yr I have yet to find a barber who can cut my hair to my liking on subsequent visits. For some reason they cut it differently each time. I always ask for a trim in English and Yah dtut sung mak in Thai. Great the first time but on the second visit I get shorn. I'm the same as Pattaya Fox now, I get my better half to cut it.

After a while, though, you stop worrying about it. You do feel a bit better if you know your barber doesn't practice the ol' two-tier pricing, where a farang is charged at least 20 baht more than a Thai.
December 21, 200520 yr try upstairs in Big C. The shop nearest the supermarket are very good. I used to try the 100 baht gamble cuts that everywhere else offer but now I pay 250 and am always happy. That's why I'm #1 hansum man
December 21, 200520 yr With so many clip joints in Pattaya, you'd think one of them would be capable of cutting hair properly.
December 21, 200520 yr I moved to Pattaya from Bangkok 15 years ago. Could not find any consistent, decent barber, so I returned to my old barber, in Bangkok. Manhatten barber shop in Sukhumvit soi 8.
December 21, 200520 yr The big place in the corner in Royal Garden 1st floor, has been the best of the inconsistant bunch I have found As already stated, after a while you no longer really care that much anymore Cheers
December 21, 200520 yr Salons are everywhere. Keep trying until you hit one you like. Soi Yamato has a couple good ones and I got a good haircut from a katoey in a joint up on Soi Chaiyapoon in November. Without intending any shades of grey here, the "persons of the third kind" seem to listen to your instructions better from my experience. I'm serious. Little Noi and Lek will nod their pretty little heads and just cut it the way they always do. ~WISteve
December 22, 200520 yr A bit far from View Tallay but my first choise is on Soi Siam Counrty Club ,about 2kms from Sukhumvit on the left side about 5 shops down from the car wash. A fully qualified old style male barber who charges the outragous price of 50 baht.

In Jomtien: Tim's Barber and Beauty Shop in Jomtien Beach Condominium sorry, but where is Jomtien Beach Condominium ?? i can't find it on my map thank you Jomtien Beach Condominium is right on the beach road. Travel southwards along Jomtien Beach Road and look for the prominent black and yellow sign of the "Seabreeze Hotel". 70 metres further on you will see "Villa Navin" and a further 50 meters is the entrance to the condo.
January 13, 200620 yr I have a great hairdresser in Sriracha. She is gorgeous and gives me an extra special massage each time (not that extra special, she also does my wifes hair). The massage lasts a lot longer than the haircut, my wife can never work out why my hair cut takes 30 minutes longer than her colour, perm, treatment and blow dry Where, Where, Where? I have long hair and need to get it cut shorter so they need to be able to style it well....
