lifeincnx
Looking for a shop here in Chiang Mai who supplies the sheet metal down tubes for rain gutters. Ideally I'd prefer pre-painted or powder coated instead of raw metal. Don't need installation; just looking for a supply source. Any thoughts and thanks. MrBrad
This is a tough one. I've solved the problem with PVC pipes...the blue ones you see everywhere. Cut them in half lengthwise for the gutters, and use them whole for the downspouts. Hangers, though, will have to be made at a local welding shop. Paint them the color of your choice. They look quite nice, actually, and are certainly functional. Daily rains are coming.
canuckamuck
Near Horizon village on the road to Doi Sakett there is a shop on the other side of the road that does gutters. It is not exactly across from them, but within a kilometer anyhow. Sorry I can't be more specific, I only remember them because I need to go see them myself before the rains come, so they are on my to do list. Beetlejuice
I know that Global house sell all the metal roof guttering. Well worth a visit as there is a good chance that they may sell the metal down pipes too. Edited April 5, 2012 by Beetlejuice
Popular Post ianf
The best gutters in Thailand are installed by Albert and I think they are imported from Scandanvia. The thing about the Thai steel gutters is tat tey are no large enough to cope with the rain and neither do they look very nice. I see these beautifully built houses with these appalling and inefficient gutters. Try Albert and PM me if you want his number, He did mine here and they really are the bees knees, as they say. I think he's called Alti Rain Gutters. Google it.

eyecatcher
If youre leaning towards ally/pressed steel gutters and fallpipes, theres a place in santitham. at the small 5lane ends roundabut take the one with the polce box towards the grandview hotel. its just on the leftopposite the plastics shop. they will fabricate what you need and deliver if you dont have appropriate transport.. powder coating though, not sure here, its rather specialised and i think a spray gun is the favoured tool here? The website is: http://www.altiraingutters.com/ I am having a house built and was advised against having pvc guttering in this hot climate. Alti Rain Gutters are made from double coated galvanized steel and they actually compliment the look of the house. The installation was not straightforward, due to the angle of the fascia boards and some sharp angles for which special parts had to be designed. Albert, who is well experienced in gutter installation, supervised the entire project and could not be more helpful, assuring me that any future adjustments that might need to be made will be attended to. As well as looking good, I feel confident that these gutters will be longlasting. Edited November 17, 2012 by SKguy

JeffersLos
The lip of the roof tiles are approx. 8 inches from the edge of the awning. Is this an issue, or is it normal, and the holding brackets will hold the guttering 8 out to start at the lip of the tiles?
