April 11, 201213 yr I know that there was some discussion on this forum about using B5 diesel in 2008 ... was just wondering about an update. I have now used three tankfulls of fuel in my new V-Cross. The first two were Shell V-Power and the last one B5 again I think from Shell. Looking at the indicated km/l over journeys it does seem that the B5 gives a slight increased in km/l or maybe the engine is just freeing up a bit! What experience do others have please?
April 11, 201213 yr When B5 was readily available we used it exclusively in our 2007 Ranger, I saw little if any difference in performance or consumption. It is of course cheaper "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
April 11, 201213 yr B5 hasn't been sold, at least at PTT outlets, for nearly a year. (After looking at current retail prices around country, it is not even listed anymore.) http://www.eppo.go.th/retail_prices.html
April 11, 201213 yr I think they canceled it to curb the price of palm oil,or more precise to make palm oil available for consumption again.
April 11, 201213 yr Not seen B5 anywhere for a fair few months, only diesel. Posted with Thaivisa App http://apps.thaivisa.com
April 11, 201213 yr When B5 was readily available we used it exclusively in our 2007 Ranger, I saw little if any difference in performance or consumption. It is of course cheaper B5 only was cheaper because it was subsidised, similar to gasohol, when the subsidising was canceled it wasn't attractive to sell anymore.I also used it when it was readily available, however I noticed a higher engine noise than when using diesel.
April 11, 201213 yr Don't most biofuels also contain sugar and corn which have both increased in price lately? Could be another reason why there is only diesel at the moment. Posted with Thaivisa App http://apps.thaivisa.com
