Thanks very much to all members who took the time to vote on the Status of Your Relationship poll. There are several issues that have been thrown up and I reckon we need to break them down into separate discussions or some interesting points will get drowned out.

As of 8th May 2012, 13.30 hours, this was the standing of the poll in regards to your thoughts on the current status of your relationship. At this point 158 people responded to this section of the poll. The results are very interesting.

Current relationship status.
  • Single (3 votes [1.89%])
  • I cannot find a reliable partner. (2 votes [1.26%])
  • Girlfriend / Boyfriend, live in (7 votes [4.40%])
  • Girlfriend/ Boyfriend, don't live with. (18 votes [11.32%])
  • Lived with partner under 5 years (9 votes [5.66%])
  • Lived with partner 5 years + (16 votes [10.06%])
  • Married under 5 years (30 votes [18.87%])
  • Married 5 years + (24 votes [15.09%])
  • Married 10 years + (22 votes [13.84%])
  • Married 15 years + (7 votes [4.40%])
  • Married 20 years + (5 votes [3.14%])
  • Married 25 years + (4 votes [2.52%])
  • Married 30 years + (2 votes [1.26%])
  • Separated now. (0 votes [0.00%])
  • Going through divorce now (2 votes [1.26%])
  • Divorced. (1 votes [0.63%])
  • Divorced more than once from a Thai (0 votes [0.00%])
  • Divorced and separated from second Thai (0 votes [0.00%])
  • Overseas sponsor (2 votes [1.26%])
  • Overseas living with Thai partner/ spouse. (5 votes [3.14%])

There are several points of interest here, one that stands out to me is how few people describe themselves as being single, and how few are in the separated / divorcing / divorced category.

On top of that I am delighted to see the amount of members who are in long term committed relationships and marriages, and congratulations to all who find themselves in that happy position.

I reckon the results of this section of the poll would be a surprise to many. What do you think?

No, no suprise to me, what I will say is it's a lot easier to have a relationship with a Thai woman than a western woman especially once you past that 55 year old mark.....if you want one.

I think if you took this poll in AU or US or Britain you would get a few different results.
