SURVEY: ARE YOU HAPPY IN THAILAND

Today, I conducted a survey amonst ex-pats in Sathorn Road.

I approached businessmen in the street and asked the question: "are you happy living here in Thailand?".

An EXTRAORDINARY 16 farang businessmen responded!!

I now have all the results. I've checked them. And I've double-checked them.

Amazingly, 8 businessmen told me to piss off and get a life. That's 50%. Fascinating!

A further 4 people looked at me as though I was some kind of creep. That's 25%. What a revealing statistic!

The other 4 people looked at me and said: "are you lonely"? That too is 25%. Unbelievable!

As I'm sure all of you will agree, these results are INCREDIBLE.

Let's discuss them.

Sorry ‘MPB’ I was with you right up to;………………………“POSTING GUIDELINES: No inflammatory troll posts. No off-topic bickering.”

I’ll check-in later.

A more practical survey would have been directed towards the average Thai on the street - inquiring:

"Are you happy with disconnected Farang harbouring an existence here in Thailand?"

I imagine the results might be shocking...

Hah I work on Sathorn Road... Shame you didn't come and ask me! tongue.png

Sorry, my mistake. I did my "interviewing" near that Church (which is almost always closed these days) in Soi Convent.

PS. Do you know why they close that Church? It's really beautiful inside.

16 Thaivisa members have reported being approached by a squat waddling weirdo asking stupid questions at Sathorn Road today. coffee1.gif

That is a long way from the nearest bridge too!

I have seen the Church open on a Sunday for Mass. I pass it in the morning when people are gathering outside to go inside.

I work right near that Church... JUst further up pass 7 Eleven in @Sathorn building. :)

Oops, that was you - sorry I didn't want to sound so harsh to a fellow Thai Visa member?

^too much information, he'll be stalking you now.

I doubt it. ;) I'm pretty sure I am of no interest to the OP.

How sexist of him. To be fair though, not many Western men ever approach me in Thailand. They're too busy looking at Thai women. :P

No offense MPB, but ýour posts are turning into trainwrecks.

There's something slightly embarrassing about reading posts by someone who is trying to be funny, but it is just a little off point and the whole thing comes across as strained and awkward.

A tip - don't try so hard.

If 16 business men are approached anywhere else in the world, by someone who most likely do not look like he is conducting a profesional interview/survey, most likely 15 would tell him to piss of (in maybe not the same words).

The 16th would probably give OP some change for a subway ticket.

If you're talking about the Anglican (Church of England, Episcopalian for Yanks) one on the corner of Sathorn, it's not "closed" at all, in fact they have regular events during the week and run a nursery school at the back. Very enjoyable 10am services on a Sunday, inexpensive lunch afterwards, very pleasant community, go there often with my kids, you're invited. . .

Were you attacked by anyone? I think gravion might have been one of the businessmen you harassed, hence his topic in the Pub Forum.

I think he was on about St. Lois Church?! I'm not sure if you're on about the same one but St Lois Church is right by Surasak BTS next to St. Lois Hospital.
