Rice Land

Featured Replies

I'm just wondering is it still worthy to invest in rice land? Heard the pricing is not low presently.

How do you plan to invest?

As a foreigner you are not allowed to own land?

Having said that the trend in cereal prices tends to be up

so an investment in rice commodities might be in order!!

Buying land to grow rice is a terrible investment. At the land prices today, you will be lucky to ever break even.

Land is a great long-term investment here as long as your purchase price is low and the growth demographics make it likely the land will be used for something other than growing rice in the future.

A very small income can be made off it by keeping on growing rice in the meantime if the land is local to peasants that you trust.

And of course it's an investment only available to Thais, if a farang is paying for it 99% of the time it will be a gift in the long run.

"Rice farming " land is a good investment in my area because we live near a sugar factory......Not everybody chooses to grow sugar cane but as long as the factory is there land prices will be high and have proven to be a good investment.

Look around the location to see what might be available in the future but generally speaking the only investment you are making is for your Thai children's future..Which is OK cos thats what I have done..
