Western Union Office With Competent Staff

I know there are Western Union offices all over Chiang Mai, but I haven't found one that will allow me to send money to a business in Europe. The little booth near Tha Pae will only receive money, and the Western Union service I found at a Bangkok Bank branch only does individual to individual transfers, no businesses.

The small Western Union office in Kad Suan Kaew said they could do the transfer, but for some reason the transfer could not be completed on Sunday. I was advised to try again, which I did today, This time the lady in the booth told me it would cost over 22000 baht to transfer $500 U.S., not the $16000 I was quoted on Sunday. I asked her to check again and she stood by the ridiculous $22000 and change, over 45 baht a dollar. I declined to be ripped off that much.

Is there anyone who has managed to transfer money using Western Union from Thailand to a business in another country? I've exhausted all the bank transfer, internet money transfer, credit card and other options, I need a Western Union office staffed by someone who knows what he/she is doing who can transfer money from Thailand to a business in Europe at the normal outrageous Western Union fee of 5% to 6%, not an obscene 50%. Any suggestions?

I have used Bangkok Bank to transfer money overseas with no problem. The fee charged is 400.00 baht, but there is a fee charged the other end, but I have not been able to quantify as to the rate(%) that is charged. It is however, not big, and for larger sums of money I think it is better, because WU charges increase depending upon the amount being charged, and I think there is also the safety factor not having to carry big sums in one's wallet. There is also a better rate of exchange transferring via the BANK vs WU. Obviously in order to do the transfer via the bank, you will need the recipient to have a bank account.
