Soldier Linked with Barrack Sex Scandal

BANGKOK: -- The army has revealed that one of the servicemen seen in the scandalous video clips is a member of an army unit based in Phetchabun Province. He will now face a disciplinary action.

General Thanongsak Apirakyothin, an assistant to the army chief who has been assigned to head the probe into the photographs showing servicemen engaging in a group sex with a woman that have recently been circulated on the internet, reported that one of the soldiers has been found as a member of a unit based in Phetchabun Province. Other men seen in the photos have not yet been identified.

The army units suspected to be involved in the scandal have been ordered to launch their own initial investigations.

The armed force is also checking whether additional legal sanctions could be brought against the servicemen for damaging the army's image.

However, General Thanongsak pointed out that the discharged soldiers cannot be prosecuted and are only liable for civil lawsuits.

The probe has also indicated that many locations seen in the photos are not public places, but rather private venues including homes and hotel rooms. However, the army insisted that those who have tarnished the army's image will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

General Thanongsak added that Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha has not given any special order for the case as it is still being investigated.

Is it possible to tarnish the armys image any more than it already is

I know in defamation law you can say things true or false about someone, that is not as bad as the truth, and it not be defamation.

So as an example if I said the Yorkshire Ripper had massive debts, it is not defamatory, true or not, as the defamation is not as bad as the truth that he is a serial killer.

This however is Thailand and even truths can be defamatory so i won't highlight anything that may or may not have happened to show that the army may or may not have done worse things than this sex scandal blink.png

Since when is having sex in not a crime?

Soldiers are not monks.

Even for monks, the punishment is de-robe.

From some reports I saw in the Thai press it would seem that the soldiers had taken advantage of the fact that the girl was autistic.

Latest reports (today) from the paper that cannot be quoted is that her husband set it up and was the photographer. Apparently the couple was making porno movies to sell on the internet.

I read that too, but it just seems to be a speculation by the BP reporter.

?

sorry but I don't understand your question, I am assuming its a typo and you are asking since when is having sex a crime? It is not a crime as long as both parties are willing etc and as long as laws re prostitution, age etc are not broken, however I am sure there are disciplinary matters to be looked at hence the army's image being tarnished, were these soldiers on duty at the time, even if not on duty they are soldiers so still bringing the service in disrepute.

If you are asking since when is having sex not a crime, then I refer you to my answer directly above but in reverse.

If that's really true, they must be severely punished and I'ld like to be in one room with those guys for say just ten minutes?

Why do you think he will be an easy lay?

how did you aririve at that conclusion? The report quoted an [unnamed] Army official that had access to interview with one of the soldiers who said it was the woman husband that brought the woman.

An unnamed source is not speculation.

Unnamed source speculating that the purpose was producing porno movies then.

A Thai friend showed me this video a few days ago. I was so shocked I forced myself to watch it twice.

The girl seemed quite up for it, I'd be surprised if she was coerced in any way. Looks more like an upcountry karaoke type girl with an appetite.

Rumours that the RTA are under equipped are either wholly exagerrated or these lads were Burmese, not Thai. In fact when I first saw the video my immediate reaction was there was no way these young chaps are Thai.

I doubt she has any more "learning difficulties" than more than 50% of folk upcountry. Agree with your sentiment - I wouldn't mind being left in a room alone with all six of them.

So what (Thai or English) keywords should we put into google so that we can do some further research into the uncensored versions of the videos and pictures?

It was on goostory but it's now been removed. I imagine that it's been downloaded on countless mobile phones in Thailand, check with your local motocy boys!

Please be warned, the content shows all sorts of activities that one would never associate with Thailand, things I haven't seen since at least last Thursday in Soi Diamond. Nice camera work though.

There were no "boing" sound effects and no katoeys, further raising my suspicions that the cameraman, or editor, was not in fact Thai either.
